Why shouldn’t he be? He’s fit, been playing for Chelsea regularly this season in all competitions, played decent for England in recent games and can play a couple of different positions. I would be querying Phillips inclusion more than Gallagher, since he’s played 30 minutes of football in the last 6 months

We need to keep giving Southgate the run of England manager. Please, hear me out. The luck he has, as an England manager is Incredible. I like Gallagher but I'm taking Ward-Prowse over him tbh, we already have midfield engines in Rice and Phillips, JWP can do that and is a free-kick and set piece specialist, is most likely the best free-kick taker in the whole squad, so like Maddision he offers something different but from central midfield, he should be in the squad imo. Ivan Toney too.
Let’s be honest, at CM /CDM position, either JWP or Gallagher will probably picks behind Rice , Bellingham, Henderson and even Phillips, if southgate picked other LB this doubtful debate will never happen. Gallagher’s versatilities and energy might helps southgate at many tactical reason .
Gallagher was one of the reason chelsea could kept up with Newcastle’s high intensity yesterday at majority of the match, his ball recovery was exceptional.
There is no way Gallagher should be in the squad. Or Henderson, Coady or Dier by name, Dire by name.
