    Huge disappointment.

Needs a massive improvement in the first half on next season, otherwise we punt him as far as we can.

Shite, but its fine. New League, new Club, new country. We had a horrible season, so its even harder to get into a decent rythm.

Underwhelming. Doesn’t mean I still see value. I see someone who doesn’t speak German or English, moving to a completely different environment, with a front office in shambles and no actual long term vision. I like to think now that he’s had time to adjust, hopefully time to learn the language and get his family settled, and finally, time to get acclimated to Kovac’s new 5-back system, I think he’ll thrive. I’m giving him another season before I write him off, and hopefully the summer goes our way too. Look at what happened to Ramy and Nmecha after last season

  4. like pretty much every other players first season at dortmund. Not good. We will see in the second season.

  5. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad…

    But I’m sure he’ll have a better 2nd season..

  6. Disappointing but I’m willing to wait to make it work. There is a great wingback there and I’ll be disappointed if we don’t try to get it out of him.

One of the worst players I have ever seen playing for us. Hopefully he can improve but honestly, the fact that he only passes to the player closest to him and he avoids taking risks like fire, is not giving me any hope.

    Very disappointing.

Only good thing is that he has room to grow and if he doesn’t, he can always play in Saudi Arabia.

Now that he can play his preferred position at RWB I think he will improve. I am hopeful that he can contribute a lot to the attack in the new system but I still feel like he will be a big liability when in defense. Maybe he will be able to cut those mistakes out

Just saying, per 90 he was still leading all BL fullbacks in progressive carries, above Frimpong. If this is how his bad season is gonna go then sure. Obviously defensively he was near the bottom in almost every metric but that’s what we expected right? And it’s not like Ryerson’s defensive positioning is doing any favours for us anyway

  11. Shit, but u can tell there’s a player in there. Not like other bad signings where they seem like they’ll fail wherever they go. I’d give him another season, if he’s able to turn it around i won’t be surprised but if not we can probably get 15-20m for him

  12. Work in progress: I give players that played outside their familiar environment a longer leash; for Couto’s case, coming from Brazil to integrate first in Europe with Girona, then to Germany where the environment is much less familiar needs time to be able to integrate properly. Didn’t help that he played under Nuri first where the inexperience made the entire squad look bad
