I watched the game and Jobe was literally a nothing-good-for. He was just walking the whole game or falling instant somebody touching him
I’d rather we don’t sign him but won’t complain if we do
I haven’t seen him play, so I hope it’s not just the name we’re after
Does Sunderland promotion hurt BVB’ chances to sign him?
Watched the game and saw him mostly recycle the ball from the double 6 position. Ran into the box several times, but didn’t get on the end of the cross. He had one shot and 1 tackle and 1 interception with 66 tchs and 56 passes. Sofascore rated him as a 7.2 above team average of 6.8. But to be fair from what I watched it was pretty cagey for Sunderland as shefield sat back and basically just relied on counterattacks. Sunderland looked pretty poor breaking down the defence and Jobe, didnt offer much. However, I believe with much higher quality around him he would be much more successful, he was constantly man marked in this game and although he could get the ball the rest of the players barely made any runs for him to pick out, and therefore recycled possession to the CBs and the other 6.
I hope the board know what they are doing with this transfer and aren’t just making a lazy decision by bringing him on board because he is Jude’s brother. On the positive side, his game style as seen on highlight videos seems to be the exact same as Jude so we kind of know what to expect.
Was kind of hoping we bring on a Toni Kroos or Pedri type of midfielder who can keep possession and control the pace of the game.
Have fun.
