Frankfurt vs St.Pauli, if Frankfurt manages to lose/draw the match that would cause for them to be in Dortmunds reach, final game Freiburg v Frankfurt, with Freiburg just 1 point away and Frankfurt from 2/3 points away depending on todays match…no matter the score between Freiburg v Frankfurt we would go up to 4th place IF we win against Kiel and looking at our form that seems possible…and only IF Frankfurt loses/draws today against St.Pauli.

Well if Frankfurt draws, they would be +3 on GD compared to us, so if they lose 1 0 , we need 3 0 against Kiel , 2 0 maybe won’t be enough (don’t know what comes after GD on tie). But a draw against Freiburg is okay for sure.
I’m mostly grateful that this win almost guarantees we’ll get EL in the worst case.
If Mainz somehow equal our GD we’d still keep our place above them cause we’d have more wins, so Mainz would need to beat Leverkusen by 3 or 4 goals while we’d need to lose at home to Kile by 2 or 3 goals respectively for them to beat us on GD.

Interestingly, if Frankfurt draw today and lose next week, and we win next week, there’s a chance that last Bayer goal really hurts us. If we beat Kiel by 1 and Frankfurt lose to Freiburg by 1, they’d beat us on goal differential. If we can get one more up on them we’d be tied on differential, but we’d get the tiebreaker with more total goals scored.
Anyway, knock wood it doesn’t matter. And let’s go St. Pauli!

Nice to be able to control their own destiny. Is it me or do they perform better once they finish up champ league this year? It seems like Dortmund has done quite well lately end of season when they look like a bad spot for finishing top 4 or 5 at times. I remember one year, I think with haaland where they looked in deep trouble in January but somehow got to a champs league spot. Great job and I hope they finish it out at home next weekend
Since Frankfurt tied, bvb has to win at least with a 2 goal lead to secure themselves the 4th place. If Frankfurt loses 1-0 they have +19, if bvb wins 1-0 they have +18.
By my calculations, we get a CL spot if we beat Kiel by more than two goals.
Nothing is guaranteed. We need to beat Kiel first. I will not be too cheerful before the match again like two years ago.
And at the end we lose against Kiel just like we lost our bundesliga title in the last game against mainz some years ago.
