Newcastle United could well be making a signing soon in the shape of goalkeeper Nick pope from Burnley. Certainly the mainstream media including Sky are pretty confident this deal is going to happen.
However, is this an upgrade on what we already have in this department? Sure he’s better than Darlow but is he much better or if at all than Dubravka?

Its an alright signing, not one to set the world a light, but ok. But i dont think its the signing to take the position forward
Hi Paul, great vid 👌 what I would say about nick Pope is that he is certainly an upgrade on darlow, woodman and Gillespie and we are (as you've pointed out) trying to build squad depth.. also I think getting an England goalkeeper for the prices being quoted is superb business… I'm on board. It's a move that does not make sense we have dubravka will he play? Surely a younger up and coming keeper would make more sense?.

i think we should buy a decent defender or two before buy another goalkeeper especially in the same age range as our current starting GK
It’s tough to say if he fits and has the talent burnley hasn’t had enough talent to know. I really hope for maybe someone from France or Portugal I think they are cheaper and better. Costa at Porto or lafont at Nantes have huge upside while being quality right now.
Aside from anything else, Dubravka seems to get injusred more than most GKs so for that reason alone he’s an upgrade on all the rest.

Are you guys kidding? Nick Pope for 8-10M is unbelievable. He is a top and consistent keeper. You guys will be laughing and signing his praises if you actually sign him for this money. Tell me what weakness he has in his game?

Solid signing, not an upgrade but he could be. Potential for sure. Not guaranteed #1 either so he may have to wait and take what chances are given. I think season after unless a new keeper is bought. He will be #1. I see him taking it after an injury mid way through the season. Martin a solid keeper. Won't be easy to dethrone him. Pope got youth on his side and will naturally replace him. I also love the move cos good subs make the players work harder.

Think you’re a bit too negative on this signing, which is interesting as this is the first take like this I’ve seen. It’s a brilliant signing, for that price it’s excellent, he’s a international, was linked with top clubs last summer for 30mil, it’s a no brainer move man.
