Ryan Giggs joins Rio Ferdinand to discuss his favourite Manchester United team, the reasons for his longevity and his standout team mate from his 24 year playing career.
After becoming assistant manager to Louis Van Gaal, Giggs describes what the values of a Manchester United player should be, how he educated the Dutchman and the current Premier League players that would be able to shoulder the responsibility of becoming a Manchester United player.
He describes in detail many conversations he had with Sir Alex Ferguson, describes parking his Ferrari on the streets of Salford rather than driving it into the training ground and how the manager tried to curb his desire to kick Cristiano Ronaldo in training.
Giggs also reveals why he likes Ruben Amorim and why he backs the Portuguese’s stance on the decision to let Marcus Rashford leave on loan.

If Grealish was a United player he would be much more criticized about his drinking and lack of goals.
already said this nick him for 20 mill of the blue bastards
I hate the narrative that Jack Grealish is being held hostage. It literally doesnt happen to any other player at Man City except him. He just doesn't have the confidence to stand with the big players in the team. Simple as that
They make it sound like grealish was neymar. He was never an elite dribbler at villa. His first touch and ball control was good. Thats it. He isn't even that quick
And he would of won what?
We should be breaking the bank to sign Grealish and i think if we put up the money he’d come because he dont owe City or their fans nothing imagine Grealish Bruno and Chuna. Very unrealistic signing but in football you never know.
I mean Doku's doing the same exact thing Grealish is being 'restricted' from doing. Same for Savinho.
You'd say the same for Bernado Silva, Mahrez, or even Sane when he was at City. All these guys were explosive and would take on guys.
I'm not sure I buy this argument anymore.
Totally agree. He's 100% a utd player
Why is there such a forced narrative that Grelaish was such a “maverick” at Aston Villa and it’s been coached out of him at city, as far as I’m concerned City never stop doku and Savio from dribbling and taking their man on but why do people feel City stop grealish from doing that?
Giggs is also explaining why Bruno is top class.
If only he was playing with magnificent teammates 😔.
Guardiola doesn't restrict players from dribbling. That's a big myth pushed by all these pundits. Matter of fact, he allows players freedom to play to their strengths. Only thing I would say is Guardiola is very strict when it comes to player positioning. And maybe that's where grealish is having problems. Guardiola is like "stick to your position", but Grealish wants to be everywhere. Again, when grealish played for Aston Villa, teams where not parking the bus, hence he had more space to operate. But playing for City, he has 11 players behind the ball so it's difficult for him to operate.
Before Grealish left for City, I thought he would have been on United radar.
Sancho was 100% the type of player United needed and one player I was monitoring and loving for a long time but look at what happened?
Does United need today what it used to need in the past? I don’t think so
Take Kubo is a Manchester United player. Technical, great vision, good on the ball, a real pass machine, hard worker but it seems nobody has been scouting him in our club.
Utd looking for right winger that time, the option between sancho and grealish both favor play at left wings n overpriced 😂. I prefer grealish that time because him proven at Aston villa. Also his physical look tough n hard proven can play epl than sancho. But sancho young than grealish also him very sensational when him play for dortmund get high g/A. But now i realises sancho got to many assist because him play with strikes name erling haaland. 😂
Agree
Giggs is a breath of fresh air to all these compromised analyst
Grealish
Kane
Pickford
All suitable for man utd
Rodri
Disagree. Grealish seems like a morally sound lad so he’d stick out like a sore thumb at United.
No one likes to talk more than rio. God damn it 🤣 when you don't win something big he says " when you retire, the titles you won is what matters" and when the same players win for the best team in premier league history and they were a big part of that treble team he says "when he retires he won't be happy with his performance". He should have played for United is of course they answer to all of these talks. United have not won anything of meaning since 2013. The fans and former players live in the past.
I wanted Man Utd to sign Grealish. He was the type of player we needed on the left. He is more effective than Rashford and Garnacho. He can keep the ball and draw fouls
Man United ruins players. That club is a mess, and its fans are egocentric losers, so they end up messing with player's mental outside the pitch.
Grealish wouldn't be a waste in city if he was at United, be playing everywhere grealish left garnacho right
I agree! He's shite now like the Utd players. Would definitely suit them.
Grealish, maybe a Man Utd player in 2025.
There's no way he's at the Man Utd level of Sir Alex's era. Stop it .
