Following our 1-0 win against Swansea City 2013/2014 Jan Vertonghen praised the work-rate of our midfield and gave them much of the credit for the result. Jan speaks to Spurs TV after the match and gives us his thoughts.

once we bring in lamela our team would be unstopable
Nearly all the parts are there, a lethal front man who will fire home all day with the right service. An outstanding mid field, Jan & Daws are think are a great pair at the back. Full backs are a concern though Danny Rose will come on, BAE will rise his game, Thought Naughton was great at right back at Dinamo. Any one else notice that.
Defoe will up his game because of Roberto so maybe Ade will. 1,2.3 in that order.
Need a creative player Carrol in time, lamela maybe.

Nobody should speak to soon, Spurs have won 3 games against poor teams so far and have struggled to score in two of them. We have 36 games to go yet.
But I have to say they certainly look solid this year, thanks to Capoue.

to be fair, we made plenty of chances that could easily have been converted, and had it not been for Lennons awesome wing play vs Palace, they never would have been forced to concede a penalty. We're having the most successful August we've had in a long time. Chin up, yiddo 🙂
yeah i agreed Naughton was great. but kyle walker is still more experienced. i do think he will be an great asset in near future
