Look at the goal vs Boateng, a high-tier defender at the time. Messi does that to many defensive players. If you were to compare Cristiano to Messi, it would be impossible. Messi's abilities with handling the ball are superior to Cristiano who's usually getting fed by great players around him. Cristiano is great in the pocket and also excels in scoring with his head over Messi. We've seen what both have done. Messi has two years left and one can clearly see that Messi will end up with more goals in fewer attempts than Cristiano. Now Lionel has the coveted World Cup trophy and sadly to say, Cristiano will not get one because coaches are already rebelling against giving him a starting role. It's sad to see players go this way. All we can say is be glad we had him both playing in the same years. Cristiano did a lot for Portugal and brought the team and players to a new level in which they could fight for a WC one day.
