Gian Piero Gasperini regarded as one of the Godfathers of Italian Football is experiencing something really difficult. Atalanta at some points in the Serie A season were considered to be Scudetto challengers, having a surplus of exciting attackers from Lookman, Retegui, Ederson and Charles De Ketelaere. All of these star talents flouring under Gasperini’s 3-4-2-1 formation and tactics. Atalanta looked like the real Dark Horse but things suddenly came to an end.
A Champions League Play-Off match resulted in Club Brugge knocking out Atalanta 5-2 on Aggregate. A scoreline many fans in Bergamo aren’t too familiar with but Gasperini’s comments on reigning African Player of the Year Ademola Lookman took the spotlight.
Gasperini labelling the Nigerian international as “The Worst Penalty Kick Taker Ever” didn’t sit right within the squad and board. A feud was caused because of Gasperini’s comments. Gasperini then announces he may be leaving Atalanta in 2025 eventhough he’s contracted till 2026. Uncertainty and doubt all over Atalanta.
As of late, Atalanta have lost their last 3 matches in the Serie A most recently a 0-1 defeat to Lazio. The Atalanta players look unhappy, unsettled and uncomfortable, was this all caused by Gasperini?

Everything is changing at Atalanta.
It's hard to fight when so many key players and the manager have one foot out the door.
It's sad to see, but it's the product of so much success in a short period of time for a club that hasn't learned how to manage that success.
Typical Gasperini, always thinks hes bigger than the club till he destroys what he built
Please keep up and stick to Seria A coverage the league needs a channel like this keep up the great work
