But you need to consider the fact that if he was not available for free, Perez may not even had made a negotiation. La Liga has a strict FFP rule now and while Madrid desperately needs a RB, they need to fill in other places as well this summer. If they really had to spend even more money, they would probably go for someone with more defensive qualities.
