    How Does Raheem Sterling Fit In At Chelsea? | Explained

    Is there a player who divides opinion amongst Premier League fans as much as Raheem Sterling? Taken on their own, his stats belong among the elite; 154 career goals in 468 appearances for Manchester City and Liverpool – almost 1 in every 3 games. But with Sterling, numbers have never been enough to safeguard his reputation.

    From poor finishing, to diving, to the outright sinister, there are several common jibes about the English forward that do the rounds on social media and beyond. Not everyone is convinced.

    Now, Sterling’s true value is set to be debated once more with Chelsea all but confirming a £45m move for the forward. Considering the Blues are a direct rival to Manchester City, and Sterling is still only 27, their willingness to let him go so easily is only playing into the hands of his biggest critics.

      The fact that sterling got much less minutes because of rotation last season and still had more G/A than any chelsea player is incredible, I’m excited for him to join us

      Weird how bench roulette at City is given as an excuse for inconsistency but that isn't afforded to the Chelsea attackers. Wonder what is different….hmm.m

      He is better than what Chelsea have now so it has to be a great signing and he was cheaper. Pulisic and Havertz are young and will get better. I think as a forward who will stay forward and has learned Pep’s system of timing their runs he will fit. Then again i said the same for Lukaku but Sterling is less risky

      I always hear “He misses some great chances!”
      Not sure Chelsea will be too upset with this after having Werner miss great chance after great chance.

      Stat padding is a thing, to think he is an upgrade on those three is criminal. He will surely struggle, his touch is just a terrible and cumbersome as that of Lukaku. City and Sterling have conned Chelsea. CHO and Pulisic are way better than Sterling. This is the beginning of the end for Chelsea. Spurs and Arsenal to finish above Chelsea.

      There's no question about Raheem being an upgrade on Chelsea's existing wing options. I can also see him playing in a front 2 with Havertz. It's interesting that the video mentions Tuchel possibly going for a 4-4-2 because I do think the money being spent on quality defenders suggests he might be looking for a solid pairing when we face deeper-lying opposition while reverting to a 3 for tougher opposition.

      Hopefully hes a giroud not a torres. (although torres is good but declined heavily in form unlike giroud who keeps getting better & better)

      Strerling at 50 million pounds is an incredible signing. Day 1 he steps on the field as the best offensive player on Chelsea's side.

      18 G/A in 30 matches last season was a decline for Sterling in some people's eyes. His stats was still great tbf. That how great of a talent Sterling really is!
