The fact that when people say that 6-8 players are the manager's, but fail to realise that it is a team game. The remainder has an impact on the game. Even Paul Scholes would have been made to look bad in the current team. It would have been long diagonal passes for an opposition throw-in or goal kick.
Having said that, Bruno is a good player, but he is not in the category of de Bruyne or even Odegard. To top the charts in the Man Utd squad (2019-2024) shouldn't be a benchmark. Bruno whines at others even when he is the one who loses the ball. Moreover, if one attempts 20 passes, one or two is bound to be a great pass. It's not like he is without quality at all. But, to be called World class, he must have the ability to play according to the strengths (whatever little that might be) of his teammates. He is really bad at keeping possession. Yes, all these might be overlooked if he plays in a team filled with stars and have holding midfielders like prime Casemiro and Kante behind him.
Couldn't agree more. Pundits especially ex-players criticize aspects of his game – like they were the perfect player themselves- while ignoring his world-class numbers year-in year-out
