  1. Foden reputation getting him starts
Back to picking players on shirt names over performance
    Rashford, Henderson….
Let tuchel find out for himself, another world cup miss

  2. Phil Foden – Positional Profile (Manchester City | Premier League & UCL, 2020–2024) Data source: Opta Analyst – as at 5 March 2024

Over the course of 10,393 minutes played between 2020 and 2024 in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League:

    Primary Position: Left Winger

Foden featured most prominently on the left wing, occupying this role for 44% of his total minutes

    Other Key Positions:

    Right Winger: 23%

    Striker: 13%

    Central Midfielder (CM): 7%

    Central Attacking Midfielder (CAM): 6%

    Left Midfielder (LM): 3%

    Right Midfielder (RM): 2%

    Left Back (LB): 1%

For those who keep he can't play on the wing

  3. For England to advance into the latter stages of the Finals, they must of course be competitive (able to defeat) teams such as Argentina, Brazil, France, Spain, Italy and Germany. This is not news. Let's take France and Brazil, for example, who boast forwards such as Dembele, Barcola, Mbappe, Vini Jr., Raphinha and Rodrygo. Rashford and Foden couldn't clean the boots of these players. Therefore, if England hope to beat team like these, then Rashford and Foden can not be in the team. Anybody got any ideas?

  4. Yes Foden is not the best option on the right and he will be even further down the pecking order when Saka and Madueke return from injury. They can make things happen. As you say Foden is playing like a wide receiever who just gives the ball back inside. Sadly he is in the team becuase he is or has been a star player in Man City team that plays in a style that suits him and this in turn means he is an automatic England selection; a syndrome that has affected England for many many years. Time to be ruthless and leave him out and use the players who are most effective in wide positions. Madueke would have made mincemeat of both defenses Albania and Latvia and made it look like men against boys. Foden just cannot do this. He does not have the speed off the mark or the dribbling skills to make things happen.

  5. What a surprise foden gets to play as a ten and gets an assist straight away… Bellingham is nowhere near the player foden is, stick him out left and right see what happens, out saka in the middle and see what happens
