Crook knows nothing.
Germany, World Cup Wins:
1974 West Germany won by defeating the Netherlands 2–1 in the final.
1990 West Germany claimed victory against Argentina, winning 1–0 in the final.
2014 Germany (unified) triumphed over Argentina again with a 1–0 victory.
European Championship Wins
1972 West Germany beat the Soviet Union 3–0 in the final.
1980 West Germany defeated Belgium 2–1 in the final.
1996 Germany (unified) won against the Czech Republic 2–1 in the final, thanks to the golden goal rule.
Germany have secured six major tournament wins since 1966 loss.
Finally England have appointed a winning German manager.
Such narcissistic framiing. Tuchel maybe the best guy to do it, may win the world cup with this very talented side, but it will have ****er all to do with how he 'handles the press'.
Get this guy off the radio and tell him he needs a shower and diet
Plastic Glory Hunting Rags
What england manager has not won things?
Southgate was virtually only one, maybe maclaren.
Sven, capello, all of them mostly
I doubt you get england managers job if you have not won anything.
Who cares who england have as manager?
Football is 11 vs 11
Capello had one of the best records in management, and his great idea for playing germany in 2010 world cup, was for england to play in red.
lol
He was paid millions, and thats all his plan was.
Capello was one of worlds best managers, when he became england manager.
So what is the point these people are trying to make, no one gets the england job who has not won anything.
I could not care less who england have as manager
You can only put 11 players on the pitch, its 11 vs 11, you cannot put more then 11 on the pitch, and other teams will be wanting to win just as much as england.
All the rubbish england make up on why they have not won, can be said about all teams at highest level.
England are one of the most cheating sides in sports.
Do me a favour! Remember how the English media lauded “winner” Capello.
It’s embarrassing how the English national team has appointed a German. No other top nation would go down the foreign manager route and England have now done it 3 times. Pathetic
Remember, White and Jordan are off for the day.
Remember, it's an International break.
Remember, it's England v Albania.
Result. You get numb nut Alex Crook wetting himself over a press conference. Them's the levels.
more often than not, the team that has the best midfielder in the world, wins the tournament… so it is not arrogant to expect a team with Jude Bellingham and Cole Palmer in it to win a trophy
It's coming home!
still weird to have a german managing england
If any England team goes to a competition and you don’t target winning why turn up ? I hated it when Southgate said he is building a team for the future …… no build one to win right now!!! And if they don’t fair enough but don’t play now for 2 or 4 years later lol
Damn Alan !! You said what I was typing lol 😅
Can't wait to hear these ridiculous "experts" like Crook explain why this new England fails to win a major tournament and apologise to Southgate years down the line as he'll be the only manager since Ramsey that got close.
The problem England has is you never find out how good the manager is until the latter stages of tournaments. England under 21s could qualify from this group.
There wasn't too much fear. It was more poor tactics in attack, playing too many no. 10's when you could have rested them fresh and just played the one number 10 per game. Could have easily had Palmer no.10 one game and Bellingham another, then used foden as a super sub. Also to be quite frank, we were lucky to get even as far as the Semi-finals let alone the final.
Extremely flukey penalty given to us and then apart from that last minute brilliance from various players, plus an easy path.
All of us criticized Southgate's negative football of not wanting to lose rather than wanting to win. We got to finals and semi-finals. I genuinely hope Tuchel takes us back to that because the same players are still there and we have no excuse not to do that. If we don't… you know the internet people are going to go and say we were better off with Southgate… I wish Tuchel all the best, because unlike Southgate, Tuchel knows how to win a big trophy
Crook should be drug tested 🙈
Alan 'Don't have a go at my mate Gareth Southgate' Pardew
Dare to say he was afraid when everybody else noticed it
Dare to say he bottled it in finals when everybody else saw it
Pardew just be honest
I don’t know people are getting carried away, they quick to forget what Gareth did where he took England from to where he left them, Tuchel is a good manager but referring to what he did before is irrelevant this a new territory for him let’s see what his made off, he need to win something simple
He (or anyone else) can only surpass Southgate by reaching a World Cup final and/or winning the euros…
No pressure then🤣
While it may not be a direct criticism of Southgate it was no less a precise observation of England's negative 'don't lose' culture., where it seemed the Southgate years will be remembered as the culture of 'niceness'. GS was a born loser. Say what you want about Tuchel''s heritage, but he's a winner. I have high expectations that he can transform the culture out of 'safeguarding for football' to 'ruthless and unapologetic' winning. Anyways, one can dream…
Unless there’s information to steal from Twitter Crook hasn’t got a clue what’s going on the helmet
How many United players in the England squad? None 😂
As England fans we
– disrespect the quality of our opponents
– overrate what our players are even capable of as a team
– want change but then contradict our previous opinions
– forget we arent the best international team in the world
And thats just the start.
This team has overachieved not underachieved, we lost to the better TEAM in both finals, and we simply cannot get over ourselves. Im delighted i got to experience a genuine sense of hope for the last few years, and but for a bit of luck we are exactly where we deserve to be. We are also perfectly capable of winning a tournament, but we all certainly have no god given right.
Get on with it Tuchel, stop whining about Southgate, you have a shoo in group, only games that matter are last 16 of World Cup
England are mid, only way then win is with Magic from Tuchel
Thomas Tuchel was right about Gareth Southgate
Southgate took England from the doldrums to relevance, he deserves credit. And the British press need to allow TT to do his job, and lay off the micro-analysis. England has no god-given rights to win any tournament, they’ll have to work for it.
no one cares
Phil Foden needs to be discarded. He isn't good enough.
Sam Matterface is such an excellent broadcaster. Talks a lot of sense a lot of the time.
Give him 1 year before you English pundits/fans turn on him like you do every manager
