If Atiba retired he wouldn’t have been consider an all time great if Canada qualified for the World Cup this year with him, having him in this squad solidified his status in the HOF

Platt really is a gem for onesoccer and for Canadian soccer in general. Gives great analysis, and insight while it also seems like he has a great relationship with the players. Love to see it.

Huge respect to Milan Borjan for all he's done for us. He's been incredibly loyal over the years and continued to play for us even throughout the early-mid 2010s when we were genuinely horrendous.

However, he does not hold a candle to Craig Forrest. Forrest is one of the few Canadian alumni to have made it to the pinnacle of club football, and almost single-handedly carried us to our only Gold Cup title. I'm sure many have read the stories of how Forrest was regularly pressured by West Ham during the 2000 Gold Cup (as at the time it overlapped the start of the EPL season) to leave the nats and rejoin them, saying "it's only Canada, they never win anything" and Forrest refused to leave. West Ham's other 2 goalies were hurt so it would've been prime opportunity to lock down a starting role there too.

Borjan has been incredible for us, this is not a shot against him at all. But he's now playing behind the best Canadian team of all time. Put prime Craig Forrest behind this Canadian team and we are just as good if not even better.

Sacrilege to say Borjan is better than Craig Forrest. I get the emotions of this run and the fact that Canada is going to a World Cup – something we were unable to achieve for Craig – but that is because of the entire team as a group as has been so eloquently explained here by this panel. Craig carried our team for a decade and inspired a generation to land us in this position today. Sorry but Craig will ALWAYS be the best keeper in Canadian soccer history.
