No. Scoring penalties changes games. Teams may stop pushing after being ahead so once a penalty is scored it's not the same need of getting another goal.
It is really odd that player’s are winning ballon dor and I don’t think they are even the better player in their own team. Like growing up when kaka, or ronaldinho won those awards, the ballon dor only justified what we all knew already, that these players were the best in the world. I think team accomplishments has to play a role, but it shouldn’t take precedence.
There is absolutely no way dude should have won it last year when I didn’t think he was even the 3rd best player on his team.

This is a good point, but people do often forget that penalties are won. I’m not sure about Kane but I do know that salah has won a good amount of his pens, and on top of that, if he hadn’t been fouled he may have scored anyway. Nonetheless, the ballondor isnt built on hypotheticals and what raphinha is doing is incredible. I just hope to enjoy more football from both wingers

Its so embarrassing now. Mbappe had more goals than messi in world cup without penalties. Messi was still considered best player in world cup. when messi scores a penalty it is a champion act but when others do it its not the same.
i don't always agree with Titi but he's actually correct on this..Salah this season doesn't have that "wow factor" he has the G/A sure, take that away he is like everyone else…but Mo Salah in 2019 however is the best version of Salah i've ever seen…

I agree. Mo Salah's goals a vast majority of them are penalties. You have to take into consideration a players goals from open play, and when you do that Raphina is on top.

Lol. Salah’s ballon D’or contention always hinged on whether he stayed as active during the business end of the season, because he always seems to underperform. Was always outshone by Mané when the going got tough or when the league/UCL wound down.
