If James Maddison and Ben White aren’t in the squad Southgate is out at the end of the tournament.

They missed a brilliant oppurtunity to shout out Geoff Hurst right there. If there ever is an example of a second choice striker taking the oppurunity to do something special for their countries national team its Geoff Hurst! Only player in history to score a hat-trick in a World Cup Final. His England record is quite similar to Crouch and Defoe's too.
Is it right Maddison is going to Newcastle in January???
