In an overall quiet week for USMNT regulars, Josh Sargent shone for Norwich and despite Juve being knocked out, Timo Weah had a worldy of a goal in the Champions League. Defenders also stood tall as Chris Richards, Mark McKenzie and Auston Trusty had strong performances. Just 1 month until CONCACAF Nations League.

#BerhalterOut!
You know, I think Leeds United might be a decent team for Sargent. I'd prefer a move to like Italy or Germany, but i get the sense his price tag might be too high for those leagues to pay for a Championship player. But if Leeds go up to PL-which id be surprised if they don't at this point- he might fit in nicely on the squad. Leeds manager likes Sargent a lot from their previous time together and i imagine would know how to utilize him in the attack with the team. And I think they have a good enough squad to stay up in PL if they get the right signings(especially on defensive) with Sargent being one of them. Leeds should also look to sign CCV.
35:02 when you're watching a game coached by berhalter…
80 back here in LA.
I am a fire fan as well. I really hope we make the playoffs.
Pochettino is watching Josh Sargent, and wondering how to use him as their are injured in the Number 9 Position, and how to use Americans players home and abroad, who are not available or injured 😳🤔

Pochettino is watching American Players home and abroad who are releasing their hunger of the Lions 🦁 as they know it their opportunity to be called to the National Team 😳🤔
You are in Chicago, so who do you think is messing up your cable? Berhalter.😂
Pete I agree with you most of the time and it’s really not a big deal at all, but Guzan was good in his prime at Villa and had a few good performances with the US. Including against Mexico in the Azteca.
Rapids fan here, steffen was not good on opening day. Multiple mistakes with his feet, shot stopping was ok. Poor imo
who is the fastest CB in the Pool? I know Richards has a slow 1st step/reaction, but he can gallop. And no chance Miles makes the WC squad, so not him.
Honestly, how can we still be bringing up Guzan? I'd rather a young guy who at least is a coinflip.
When he was backing up Howard and on at Villa, he seemed like the heir apparent… but he showed that was false hope.
Please… no one say "this is Josh Sargent's window" because if you do his legs will break in some way.
Seriously though… the talent is there. A different coach and a different system can bring that out. Berhalter's system strangled our strikers. I think Poch can bring something out that GGG couldn't.
Brad Guzan was the #1 keeper for a Premier League club for years. Don’t say he’s never been a good keeper. An American being a starter for years in the best league in the world is nothing to scoff at. Gotta give players their flowers.
Prayers for Tony Meola!
Pete can never escape the ggg
An interesting thing that I’ll be keeping track of this MLS season: American contributions
In week 1:
Average number of Americans starting per team: 3.47 (with Orlando and Portland starting ZERO Americans)
Average age of Americans in their team’s starting 11: 26.27 years
Goal contributions by Americans in the Starting 11: 13/46 total goals (28.26%)
7 goals for Sargent in last 6 matches
Any of you guys watched She Believes Cup? This youngest USWNT lineup since 2000, with player 18 19 years old with no cap or a few caps can hang with Australia A team and beat them in an impressive way is a thrilling thing to see. As a USWNT fan it’s exciting era. Of course I will watch USMNT nation league in March.
What I’m realizing regarding US development of keepers is not the shot stopping, positioning and size and fitness. The issue is ball playing ability as well as the fact that keepers staying in MLS to make more money they don’t have the sharpness created from the pressures in Europe. It’s better if we have a keeper starting in the Championship as apposed to the mls because of the pace of play and pressure keeping them sharp. Keepers 10-20 years ago we’re going abroad and pushing themselves similarly to our field players now.
