@CoventryCityFC were on their best run of form for over 50 years… where they had recorded 8 wins from 9, most recently away at @OxfordUnitedOfficial .
The week though there was a different feeling to the game as returning was #Markrobins with his new club @StokeCity whom them selfs were trying to find form to secure their status in the @theEFL #championship
with 11 games left in the season, the #skyblues had managed to enter the top 6 and where currently 5th going into todays game.
The #skyblues new they were without influential midfielder Jack Rudoni, who suffered a dislocated his sholder in the previous game.
Before the game we visited the Familyzone where the was a compitition to win a signed Childrens Book that had been written by the #skybl;ues manager #franklampard, Jonas won one…. he was super proud!
The game started with the #potters on the front foot, closing down all the space and not letting the #skyblues settling in to their usual rythum.
However the game changed as the #skyblues got a throw in level with the 18 yard line. Milan van Ewijks long throw was met by a leaping Victor Torp who headed the throw in perfectly into the bottom corner,
The #skyblues are now up to 18 headed goals this season.
The #skyblues doubled their lead, with a fantastic worked goal where our superstar from Tokyo did a naughty nutmeg charged into the box, played a fantastic ball to Victor Top who controlled the pass perfectly before sliding the ball into the bottom corner with his left foot.
The #skyblues tried to add a third but Josh Eccles was denied with Victor Johansson tipped his effort on to the post.
shortly before half time, the #skyblues had a massive shout for a penalty when Ephron Mason-Clarke connected the ball in the box, took it past the keeper only for Johansson to seemingly bring him down. However the referee didn’t think there was a problem with the challenge.
Looking at the replays of the incident the #skyblues probably were unlucky not to get a penalty, and waybe the #potters were lucky for still having 11 men on the field.
Half time came with the #skyblues leading 2-0.
Mark Robins changed his system bringing on Conor Gallacher at half time, who has been a thron in the #skyblues side on previous encounters.
And that would be extended in this game as in the second half Conor Gallacher scored twice to bring @StokeCity back level with the #skyblues first with a tap in from a break after BTA had lost the ball in the final third for the #skyblues which was costly, the second was from a soft free kick, which was headed in to the top top corner. Looking at the replay the effort did look offside, however no VAR so the goal was given.
The #skyblues were looking to hold on to aa point with the swing in momentum to the #potters.
However deep into added time the #skyblues got the ball into the box from a cross from Matt Grimes, the returning Haji Wright was beaten to the ball the ball, but ball bounced over to the advanced Bobby Thomas who controlled the ball, made space for himself before unleashing a rocket shot into the bottom corner, to win the Game for the #skyblues.
it was a crazy end to the game and increase the #skyblues run to 9 wins in 10 games a new club record, something #Franklampard should be proud of as the #skyblues moved on to 56 points with 10 games to go.
the Next game being derby away on Tuesday…..
