Every Man Utd fan will always have a soft spot for Rashford, despite how things have ended. This is a player that the club produced through the youth academy that went on to become arguably our best player for years and became an England international. His debut in the Europa league and EPL and his international debut were phenomenal. He had the world at his feet, but he stagnated in his development and hasn’t grown or added to his game in the past few seasons.

He always played for the badge, but he didn’t have the killer work ethic of a Ronaldo type player. His ego and confidence is too fragile. But when he is playing well and in form, he’s unplayable.

Much like Sancho, he disappears from games far too often.

The disrespect for Marcus Rashford. He’s better than Antony!

Sorry to bring politics into football but he became a darling of left wing media and they were reluctant to criticize him for his awful performances. SIR Marcus Rashford 🤣.

Never saw it with this guy. Never, he was a media creation. I saw Daniel James though and was impressed by his play. Dunno why you gave up on him and kept some of these others.

Even in his 30 goal season, his goals were masking his weaknesses. Decision making, passing, etc which many a time affected the team's play negatively. So yes he'd score a goal but it involved a lot of suffering

Right, Rashford's skillset is too narrow? Where does this information come from? How does this explain the purple patches Rashford has gone through where, in spats, he's been one of best performers in the Premier League? Mentality is, no doubt, an issue for Rashford. Antony, a player who was deemed as useless on social media, has recently himself found form away from Manchester United. Sure, this may be a blip and Antony's numbers may well decline as the remainder of the season plays out, but whether one speaks of Antony, Alexis Sanchez, Angel Di Maria, or Rashford, the same 'attitude' problems and lack of consistency (in Sanchez's case: zero form) remains. Over the years it would seem that only a very particular attitude thrives at United, and it's those with the toughest mentally who can cope with the demands of representing Manchester United. To represent a club that continues to instil the values of Alex Fergusson's United era means making the same demands of a team predisposed by those very same values but without the leadership model and players to fulfil them. In recent years few have had either the quality, nor the experience and preparedness, to succeed at the club. Apart from Bruno Fernandes, Zlatan Ibrahimovich ,Cristiano Ronaldo and, maybe Casemiro and De Gea, nobody has proven to be effective for a sustained period at United. I realise in saying those five names that what they all have in common is their generationally brilliant reputation: they all are, or have been, world class – Ronaldo being one of the greatest players of all time. I don't believe Rashford lacks quality in his game – if anything he probably lacks enthusiasm as the pressure tugs at him relentlessly. Being Marcus Rashford comes with the responsibility of upholding the club's values, almost as a passing of the baton, previously given to him from the likes of Ronny, and from Rashford to a new generation of talent expected to carry that same weight yet likely to find even less success than Rashford has (at Manchester United, I mean). Being labeled as the next Thierry Henry is just added pressure: it's an indication by the media that Rashford is expected to fulfil the ridiculous task of emulating the greatest player in Premier League football; to be a metronome and have a world class team behind him to aid him of his stratospheric rise to the summit of world football, battling the quantitive data produced by another youngster who's even more unbelievable without the same pressures. That's not an environment for anybody to thrive in, but rather, one to drown in. One player alone against the world. The human being reduced to a name and a prophecy built by the media and made to be demolished.

On the surface there's a passion, a drive for the respective player to represent a club of such magnitude, but that false enthusiasm quickly dissipates like a mirage. It's false hope, false expectations. How many players in all of world football could cope with that pressure? Maintaining the calibre expected as though Fred was Roy Keane, or Rashford: David Beckham. There is no content in second place for a team whose following is as great as that of Real Madrid. Manchester United must be first; Manchester United have been too successful for English football, thus the conditions for success is much greater. Put those demands on any athlete; sell incoming players and youth prospects what their expectations are and it remains, even if unsaid: win everything. Sure, in actuality the expectation should be tempered a little – finish the league in a Champions League position. But in actuality the spectres of more successful United team's remain in Amorim's dressing room now. Ole Gunnar Solskaer's team finished in second, and clearly such an impressive finish wasn't good enough. Maybe all this says more about Ferguson and his legacy as Manchester United's manager – a manager probably too good for Manchester United; a manager too good for English football.

The way you phrased the intro was so stupid I don't even know where to start. Who is comparing him to Mpabbe? No one in England thinks he was a wonderkid, I think he sucks and always have done. Maybe a few die hard Man Utd fans thought he was great but they would be delusional about anyone. As a city fan I can honestly say I don't mind Rashford he had immense talent and if he was more consistent he could probably be called a word class player hope he does well at villa already seen a few glimpses of his talent
