John Stones has been ruled out for up to ten weeks as Pep Guardiola confirmed a huge injury blow for the Manchester City defender. The England international picked up a thigh injury during Manchester City’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League. Stones’ injury is a significant blow for Guardiola’s squad, as the 30-year-old will be unavailable for at least two months. However, Guardiola confirmed that the defender will not require surgery.
Sharing an update on Stones’ injury, Guardiola told reporters: “No, (he will not need) surgery. He can be recovered during eight to 10 weeks without surgery.”

Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi has been fined an undiclosed amount for putting his hand on the neck of an NYCFC coaching staff member Mehdi Ballouchy, the league announced. The incident occurred following full time of the clash between Messi’s Miami and NYC, when the Argentine appeared to get into a verbal confrontation with the coach, before grabbing the back of his neck. Messi’s frustrations came after a 2-2 draw in which the Herons had a man sent off in the 23rd minute.
Messi’s teammate Luis Suarez was also fined by the league for a similar incident. He and NYCFC defender Birk Risa exchanged words at half time, and Suarez was found touching the Norwegian’s neck — before teammates intervened.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has dropped a fresh hint on his future as his contract stand-off with the club continues. Salah’s future at Liverpool remains in serious doubt, with the Egypt international now just months away from the end of his contract and yet to reach an agreement over a new deal. The forward has previously admitted “he’s more out than in” at Anfield and could be set to depart after another phenomenal season where he’s been in inspirational form for the Reds as they continue to battle for three trophies.
Liverpool’s star man has bagged 30 goals already this season and, even though he will turn 33 in June, his exit would surely represent a huge blow to the Merseysiders. Salah has given a fresh interview with club legend Steve McManaman and his comments may have Reds fans fearing the worst as he looks back on his career. He told TNT Sports: “I want fans to remember that I gave it all to the fans. I gave it all to the city. I was here, I wasn’t lazy, I just enjoyed my football and gave it all. I think that’s what the city is about – they give you love and you have a connection with them because you give your all. I just want them to remember that I was here for eight years and I gave it all.”

Kylian Mbappe is suffering from a “tooth problem” which has kept him out of Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey semi-final clash with Real Sociedad. The 26-year-old forward had a tooth extraction earlier this week, which prevented him from participating in training sessions. Although Ancelotti expected Mbappe to be available for the first leg of the semi-final tie, the 2018 World Cup winner lost the race against time and had to be omitted from the matchday squad.

Arne Slot has been banned as the FA confirmed a touchline suspension and hefty fine for the Liverpool boss after his red card at Everton. Chaos erupted when James Tarkowski’s injury-time goal sealed a 2-2 draw for Everton in the Premier League, a result that caused heated reactions from both sides. After the final whistle blew, referee Michael Oliver handed out four red cards in response to the tensions that flared during the closing moments of the match. Slot and his assistant, Sipke Hulshoff, were sent off for their furious protest against the official’s decisions.
Following a comprehensive review, the FA have confirmed that both Slot and Hulshoff will be banned from the touchline for two matches. This means they will be absent for Liverpool’s crucial upcoming fixtures, starting with a Premier League encounter against Newcastle United at Anfield. The suspension will also extend to Liverpool’s match against Southampton on March 8.
That’s all for now, stay tuned for more updates as it comes.
