The DOWNFALL of Phil Foden… 👀

  1. The Euro's destroyed him. He had a horrific tournament that completely destroyed his confidence. I know people will blame Southgate, and maybe some of it is his fault, but He can't control everything and Foden didn't play well at all.

  2. Just another player that shines when the team is on good form and takes more credit for it… And also playing bad when the team is on bad form.. Not really main man type of player

  3. I agree, as a city fan, I think it's a blip, his motivation after being overshadowed by other english players in the euros and also adding on to city's peformance, he'll be back and ready next season

  4. I get the clickbait type of titles but come on, the “downfall” of Foden? Hes 24, had an incredible last season and is in a team that has entirely underperformed, front to back. He needs 12 goals in 16 games to match his tally for last season and just 4 goals to match his tally of the season before. There is no downfall of Foden, there’s a lot of issues at City that no one knows about.

  5. He's factually nowhere near world class and not that good, and didn't deserve 23/24 POTS . Him being given that was a spit in the face of players like Salah, Rodri, Haaland, Saliba and Ben White who were all much better and consistent than him.

When he goes to England he's terrible there, Bellingham has consistently turned up and he goes missing.

Last season he had a purple patch of good form and the English media had their knickers in a twist.

He's a system player that has benefits massively from Pep' tactics, is massively overrated and I've been saying this for 3 years now. The only reason why he's rated is cos he's white, young, playing for City and a teenage dad.

Sterling, Bellingham, Joe Hart, Sturridge and Welbeck were all better for England than him. And Bellingham has been 100x more influential at club level.

If I'm Pep I'm throwing the kitchen sink at Wirtz, imo he's the perfect KDB replacement and is much, better than Foden. If not him then:

    Xavi Simmons.
    Kluivert
    MGW
    Damsgaard and/orCunha.

I say and/or because KDB is leaving in the summer so they'll need 2 players to replace him and someone to rotate with him.

That's not to say all of those players are better than Foden cos some are, but they'll replace other players like Doku who's useless, which will help City's attack next season.

An idea as to what works class AM's are+were:
    David Silva
    Sneijder
    Coutinho
    Ozil
    KDB
    Bruno F
    James
    Muller
    Reus
    Eriksen (Spurs version)
    Shaqiri
    Illicic

    I could name alot more.

Foden comes nowhere near these guys. I had really high hopes for this guy in 2019 and whilst he wouldn't ever be on KDB's level i thought he'd get close to it. But he's been nowhere near it, he looks closer to Andreas Pereira 😭💀

  6. You can’t be world class if you aren’t consistently a top or influential player for your side. I don’t think Foden is world class, he’s a good player not a great player. 1 season wonder doesn’t make you world class

  7. Southgate benched Palmer, made Bellingham play on the wing and had Saka as a RWB only to favor this bum who despite all this, he displayed a mayor disaster class in the euros

And not satisfied with that, he has the audacity to complain that he “didn’t feel comfortable where he was playing”. My brother in Christ, the manager had 2 star players adjust their positions and had other one benched just for you to play in the position where you displayed your best performance

  8. Foden had a rough start to the season missing games due to illness and injury, he also admitted to burn out and frustration at playing out of position for England at the Euroes, he hasn't been great but is still citys 2nd top goal score and has the 2nd most goal involvements for city, his prefomamces Haven't been awful however he isn't at his best
