I can't read lips, but Schar didn’t exactly look like he agreed. He handed the ball to Gordon with a mix of a grin and a resigned expression.
Why was Gordon taking the free kick? It was fairly far out, and as far as I know, he has never scored directly from a free kick for Newcastle. The attempt wasn’t impressive either. Today, it’s probably only Schar and Szoboszlai who remember it.

Got the impression that we were happy to limit the damage. Pope was awful. Bruno may as well have stayed in bed. Gordon isn't a right winger but doesn't seem convinced that he's a left one either. Wilson? I dare not comment. (Isak would have stayed on-side and scored and would have beaten the keeper with the second chance. We don't have balance, always seem lopsided with repetitive options. Season will fizzle out unless Howe can organise them more effectively – difficult with Bruno operating as a loose cannon all of the time.
Eddie has spent almost 500 million and we have 3 top level players isak Tonali and hall. Maybe Botman but he’s always injured. The rest are average to shite.
