If he goes to Villareal, that's good news.

Ahmed is ready for a big move, imo. He really proved himself at the highest levels with Canada. Some players look like a fish out of water (initially, at least) when they make the step up. Ahmed looked like his usual self right outta the gate – a genius on the ball and an absolute killer on the press. He deserves a big move. Of course, the big question is whether or not he really needs that move in order to be at the top of his game for '26. Would obviously be bad for him to ride the bench into the WC.
For a lot of the current Canadian players, you have to imagine the best thing is to stay put wherever they are getting regular minutes and expect that a good WC showing will raise their stock immensely and result in far better moves than they'd get prior.
