Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez made the difference when he unleashed a shot from outside the box that took a deflection off Sasa Lukic and into the Fulham net in the 78th minute. And he was happy to admit that luck had paid off in the goal, as the Red Devils recorded their third away win of the Premier League season.
Martinez was speaking alongside United youngster Toby Collyer, who made a brilliant goal-line save in the second half when he headed home Joachim Andersen’s shot to preserve his side’s lead. He paid tribute to the 21-year-old. Martinez said: “I’m very happy for this guy. This guy is a great example for the young generation. He works hard every day and he’s very humble. That means a lot. Not only for the fans, but for us because we’ve suffered a lot. It’s a tough win, the pressure at this club is tough, but we’re here. We know how tough it is. Even in a game like today we have to win and be humble after winning.”
