As soon as Graeme Jones came in he started playing people in the right positions. Almiron was in a Central position again and we actually used a 5 at the back that was functional. Mat Ritchie was finally being played, which in my opinion gave Newcastle the aggression and leadership they needed and tactically we looked completely different. I like to think I’m a reasonable Newcastle fan. But if you look at how we changed when he came in, you are not watching Newcastle if you believe he is only complimenting Bruce….

If what Dean says is true, then why is Phill Jones 5th choice at Man Utd? He can defend, he can do the basics, he's brave, he's strong and he's solid. He's 5th choice Dean, because he has the footballing brain and footballing ability of a Dog & Duck FC player. What's the point in having the basics, if every time you try and pass, it either goes out for a throw in or you give the ball to an opposition player. That's just counter productive.

ok bruce was a fine player but it does not mean he can be a top manager in the modern game. being a fergie type manager is gone for good. you can not put fear into players and bully them into doing it. the modern game is about control at all levels and all over the park. you have to be good on the ball and look after it and never pump it into the stands or into the channels
