The presentation of Carla Ward as the new Republic of Ireland women’s manager was overshadowed by yet another controversy today.
Eileen Gleeson’s assistant Colin Healy accused the association of a lack of transparency and compassion, as well as “a total disregard” towards his welfare as an employee of the FAI.
At Ward’s unveiling, the FAI’s CEO David Courell and Chief Football Officer Marc Canham faced intense scrutiny from the media regarding the timeline and the manner of Healy’s departure.

Seems like they treated Colin very badly
Few of these journos seem to be interested in the future and what Carla hopes to do, they just seem to want to go on and on about Colin! Very disrespectful to Carla and indeed to the women's team. I don't think many of these journos know much about women's football, but they seem to know alot about Colin! Bizare!
Can this organisation ever do anything right.
Carla deserves far better than this nonsense.
This was a disgrace. Completely disrespected Carla. The Colin issue should have been handled in a separate setting and both men at the table showed great weakness in allowing that to go on. Embarrassing.
