The Premier League’s leading team, Liverpool, looked set for a draw for the third league game in a row, but in extra time against Brentford, they managed to break the London club with two goals.
Substitute striker Darwin Núñez became the hero when, in the 91st minute of the match, he took advantage of a perfect serve from Trent Alexander-Arnold and shortly afterwards also smashed the ball into the roof of the net after a counter-attack to make the final score 2-0.
