Celtic put on more of a show than we’ve seen in recent weeks as they Beat Dundee United 2-0 at Celtic park this week. Brendan Rodgers had some changes to make for this match with Nicolas Kuhn pulling out of the warm up last minute, allowing Yang Hyun-Jun to deputise. Daizen Maeda was tha match winner on the day with he & Reo Hatate scoring the goals in a match that Arne Engels was awarded Man Of the Match. Now all eyes are on this block of fixtures and next up is Ross County away. Adding in the January transfer window madness that includes the “no smoke without fire” situation of Kyogo Furuhashi & the MLS. as youve said before quinny hatate is a good impact sub and for me, hes been that inconsistent id rather have a solid physical ball player rather than what hatate offers.
hes obviously been told to be more physical after the old firm because he didnt let himself get bullied off the ball vs utd which is a good start, lets just hope it sticks.
the stat you mentioned the other night regarding mccowan losing possesion 20x and that being similar to what hatate brings to the game… the difference is mccowan was playing these balls and losing it in dundees final 3rd whereas hatate had been getting bullied off the ball in the centre of the pitch and even outside our own box vs rangers and falkirk off the top of my head.
losing the ball where hatate was was the liabilty whereas we can afford to lose the ball more in their final 3rd its less dangerous. as soon as hatate was losing the ball it was us under pressure.
