That performance against Liverpool has really put a player in the spotlight for me. Manuel Ugarte’s performance was IMMENSE. He deserves his flowers for that showing alone, but he’s quietly become a player at the heartbeat of what makes this United side work. I want to shine a light on Ugarte’s performances as of late and see where we’re at with him. Here’s 5 things we’ve learned about Manuel Ugarte so far…

  1. Can we not get carried away please! We do this with so many players after a decent few games and then rip them apart!. How many "We need to talk about XXXX" videos have we seen on this channel and others?

  2. I knew when we signed him he’d be a good player for us, but he’s made such a difference this season. If we could fill the squad with with quality players like ugarte we might actually challenge for the league

  3. This boy I think is possibly great, I am 100% a Ugarte fan. Just needs to do it verses Juventus when we are two down and then………………………….

  4. The new leadership at United really delivered one hell of a transfer window last summer. People will debate between Ugarte and Mazraoui for signing of the season, but for me it was Yoro purely because of the potential ceiling. De Ligt has also been an underrated and very necessary signing. Zirkzee is the only one with a question mark, which is fine for a 23 year old in his first season. In previous years, we'd have signed 5 Zirkzees and say "they'll come good eventually"

  5. Perfect for a high pressing, high intensity system. But if he's the only one doing that he'll look an idiot and like a dog chasing a ball.

Need more players capable of playing that way incl Bruno, Amad, de Ligt and Ugarte.

  6. perhaps we can spare a little love for ETH for some of his last signings. ugarte, yoro. mazroui. deligt. bringing in mainoo from the academy. not saying we should have kept him , but he got a few things right lol

  7. Ugarte is Roy Keane 2.0 but a better footballer to go with it
    Pure aggression and strength
I worry he will get a bunch of cards and maybe the odd send off if he boils over
    But I’m here for it

  8. The one thing that surprised me most about him is his composure in tight situations, he has like 3-4 players on him but still stays calm and finds a way out of the situation

  9. I recall hearing an old story about him when he was still playing in his home country.

His nickname was “Three lungs Ugarte”.
    Love it!

  10. Well said Ste, let’s hope the rest of the team reach Ugarte level of performance. That’s what we have been lacking in those previous years.
I remember Casemiro first season, he was so good, leader, can easily shout in Bruno. He was a no nonsense guy in the pitch. At the time, he brings that Real Madrid mentality, leadership into the dressing room.
Past the first season, the downfall was spectacular.

We need 5 or 6 players at the highest level and that would be fine. But we cannot rely on only one player.

  11. For those older reds like me, I'll mention the name. REMI MOSES. We've needed a REMI for years and years. We now have one. Love UGARTE. ❤️🇾🇪

  13. Finally we got a BEAST MODE MIDFIELDER!!!!
    Very impressive!!!!
Some could learn a few things from him.
Yes it’s mentality!!! But pointing to your head ain’t the same thing as actually embodying strength and strength in mentality!!!
    Ya know what I mean??
    Ya know, WHO I MEAN????
    What a warrior

  14. Between him and Martinez, we got 2 nasty little fookers who show passion and fight with an intensity that the rest should follow that lead….
Proper love watching him do his thing and tear through the future opposition.
    Midfielders Beware!!!! HE’S COMING!!!
    WERE COMING!!!!!
    GGMU

  15. I’m impressed with the way in which he has tuned in to PL refereeing. He’s had a few cards, but he could easily have had more including reds if he had not controlled his aggression so well. He puts himself about but knows how to inflict damage without obvious pain.

  16. Need two more midfielders like him he’s not bad on the ball either he’s getting better each week we need all our players to be like him attitude energetic and plays with heart

  17. Good on you Ste, haven't seen anyone take a deep dive into how good he's been since Amorim arrived. Pundits seem to consistently overlook or downplay him. His key attributes for me are mentality and technique / nous on the ball. Always picks it up in tight spaces and does the right thing. Not sure you can call that a 'basic', but he makes it look easy. As good going back as he is forward. Player of the season for me so far.

  18. We can’t say INEOS haven’t got some things right… they’ve finally signed us a class number 6 after years of crying out for one.
