Dr Who, The Crown and House of the Dragon star Matt Smith is a lifelong follower of Blackburn Rovers, thanks to his dad who was born and raised in Blackburn.

He was a special guest for our 2-0 win over Luton Town alongside legendary former player Morten Gamst Pedersen and took time out to sit down with RoversTV and talk through his love of the club.

  1. I totally get this 100%, I'm a brummie… BUT… my dad, my grandparents, all that best side of my family are Rovers, probably since the club formed, so it was never in question.

  2. Thrilled to see I have fond memories of going to a game with my grandmother and hope to get to a match with my cousin and young son. The same cousin played when he was a kid with the Blackburn programs.

  3. Really?

I had no idea the former Dr Who actor was a fan of Blackburn Rovers.

They are having a pretty decent season so far, might be worth a small bet for a playoff position.

In otherwords, finishing in 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th in the EFL Championship, however realistically I think it's a bit soon for the Ewood Park side to be thinking about a return to the Premier League.

But 3 or 4 seasons… and you just never know.🀞

  4. Im a soton fan born and bred but my mum side of the family are from lancashire and even my 2 oldest siblings were born there. Still got distant relatives in blackburn. Proper football club. And like matt, when my team wins, it makes my weekend, and when we lose, it ruins my weekend. Had many bad weekends thus far.
