Slot used his media briefing to provide a fitness update on Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley.

He also discussed Caoimhin Kelleher’s future and how Pep Guardiola is likely to come up with a plan to turn his side’s poor form around at Anfield.

  1. On points..people only talk abt injuries when results are not there…we have had elliot, jota, allison, tsimikas, chiesa, Jones and now konate and Bradley out at one point or the other

  2. Konate looked like to took a kick rather than pulled or twisted soft tissue, so i would be hopeful that he would be okay go play on Sunday.

Bradley definitely wont if he has felt anything in his hamstring.

  3. gome at CB and trent will either start or come in later then quansah will be used at cb or right back later in the game as trent probably not fully fit 90 mins

  4. David, im personally nervous about sunday…i think a wounded animal, which city are at the moment, can be dangerous. So im cautiously optimistic about sunday. On a separate note, when do you think chiesa will get a run out?

  5. No way TAA can go 90min., probably just a half and then Gomez. Usually if a player is out more than just a week, he needs some time to get back to 100%.

  6. City is still the team to beat. They are dangerous. Make no mistake, they had some rough luck lately. I‘d play cautious like when we played Chelsea. Give them ball possession and sting them in counter attacks. This is Slot‘s major upgrade to Klopp who was very stubborn to play a high line even against dangerous teams. Slot‘s football is a touch more passive and that helps a lot.

  7. Arne Slot la la la la ball is good because of passing and composer compared to Klopp's high press, which can burn almost everyone. The more the team passes the ball, the more they relax.

  8. Cheers David, I’m not surprised Slot, has kept it quiet about Bradley and Konate. Personally, once we went two up I did think he’d make some changes before his hand was forced. Quansah and Trent, could have come on at the 75 min mark…
Let’s hope we attack that much that City are penned in their own 3rd of the pitch.
But hindsight is a wonderful thing.
I believe LFC as a whole have now gone onto a new level, the spine of the team in Kelleher, VVD, DG and MaAlister all seem solid. We are fortunate in our forwards as apart from Jota, are all fit. If Nunez starts, I hope he gets a little rub of the green and tucks away a few of these sitters he’s had bad luck with.
    Once again great report.
    Cheers.

  9. Proper dity purposeful foul on konate. I hope he's ok because we've seen with his injuries that ine little nighle can turn into a series of problems and we bsdly need him he's been the best CB in Europe thos season an absolute colossus! Bradley is also becoming more and more important he's a lot more switched on defensively than trent and is showing real promise attacking wise

  10. Gk : Kelleher, Alisson
    RB : Bradley, Trent
    LB : Tsimikas, Robertson
Center back: VVD Konate and Gomes

    DMC : Gravenberch, Endo
MC. : Szobozlai, Mac Allister, Curtis Jones.

    LW : Diaz and Gakpo
    RW : Salah and Elliot
    St : Nunez and Jota.

We had so many injures the last 3-4 season, and Klopp had built great players in every position.

We won’t use INJURY like some club cry so much when they missed their captain for 6 games

  11. Are we forgetting Gomez is a CB? If trent is fit play him RB and Gomez can partner virgil. Quansah hasn't had a sniff this season and has that one big mistake a game in him. Im not sure slot trusts him tbh

  12. The good news is that Trent is back. Just play Gomez and VVD as the 2 center backs and rest Ibu Konate anyways. Don't risk Konate if he is not 100 percent. Gomez has been really good this season when he had to play and he usually plays well against City.

  13. Is Slot becoming the new "Paisley after Shankly". A more softly spoken gentleman after the character of Jürgen? if so, indeed we could be very lucky. Hardly any spending done in the summer, with for me a vulnerable squad where a couple of key injuries (VvD, Konaté, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Salah, Diaz) or simply fatigue could easily derail this wonderful run we are in … as was the case last season.
