NGL I never understood the hype around Foden. The performances do not warrant that level of glazing.
I also think the Saka comparison is not completely fair, since they have very different profiles and serve different roles, but if there is sth that can definitely be compared is their mind set. Saka has been consistent for many years now and even in dips of form he produces goals, assists or chances. When criticised he goes to the pitch and does sth about it. He reminds me of older players like ronaldinho, who was called out for being fat and then produced one of his best perfomances, or ronaldo, who got so shat on after the 2006 world cup, only to come back to England and be the best player in the world at the time and everybody had to shut up.

It started at the Euros. He was a hindrance more than anything. We had no left hand side because he constantly drifted in and got in the way of Bellingham or whoever was there.
He produced nothing but Southmate didn't have the minerals to drop him.
Having zero left hand side also allowed the other team to constantly 2 up Saka and effect his game.

Saka is the face of Arsenal for better or worse. His shoulders carry the whole club, on the pitch and off it. He isn't replaceable. He is one of the special chess pieces that cant be replaced. If Foden left city, its would just be another Tuesday. He is not that guy.
But Foden is better than Palmer they said; he plays for the best team, surrounded by the best players therefore he is the better player they said. Palmer was almost single-handling keeping Chelsea competitive in a mediocre squad last season, as all neutrals and pundits agreed. Now he's replicating those performances in a relatively much-improved Chelsea. Sure, Cole doesn't have the same amount of trophies at Chelsea but has the better stats over Phil. Consistency is everything in football. Quaresma had the bristling talent but ultimately CR7 had the application. We now see who the better player is (suck it bowl-cut).
