Its a testiment to his character that Mac Allister was the main player who dragged Argentina through to win the world cup, MOTM performances near enough every game, yet tries to make it out like it was everybody else on the team who won the game carrying him.

Alexis is of course incredible and I think every football fan can see it. Lovely to see he’s a great person as well, but is it possible he is one of the top 10 most underrated footballers in the world? I don’t think anyone would say he’s average or just a decent footballer, but I feel like he never gets shouts amongst “world class” in his position, and that’s so wrong. He’s incredible.

I mainly do not enjoy conversations with players as they are just young men and the questions are from a PR angle. Gary is always engaging, the players know who he is and what he did and Alexis turns out to be a very likeable man in this and all his comments. What a star he is also when it's his football doing the talking.
Even as a Newcastle fan I really like Mac Allister, played very well the other day
