Raphinha’s form is unbelievable for FC Barcelona at the moment. This summer, many fans wanted the club to sell Raphinha for the transfer of Nico Williams from Athletic Club de Bilbao. In the end, Raphinha stayed, and has been Barcelona’s most important player of the season thus far. Raphinha has become a monster under Hansi Flick, and is one of the top performers in Europe when it comes to goals and assists.

  1. Another thing I’d add is hard work can be very contagious especially with all the young players this team has at the moment. That’s what I like about him, he might not be a big name star like Mbappe, but him working hard for the team really shows and I think it’s a big motivator for the rest of the squad. Just how being lazy is contagious, working hard is contagious too. When one of your leaders is stepping up and leading the team, the rest of the players will follow. Ever since Messi left, we didn’t have a player to show leadership on the field. No one showed up and put the team on their shoulders how raphinha is doing this season.

  2. I love Raphina. Great story and redemption arc but more importantly hard work and a strong mentality is what is most important in this world and he embodies that. Big fan he deserves all the success that comes his way.

  3. Even though Raphinha is having an outstanding season so far and he seems to be a robot, Yamal is the key player of Barcelona. When Yamal was on playing – Barcelona was loosing. Even the last game with Mallorca – it was Raphinha who scored 2 super important goals, but it was Yamal who made it possible (as well as other goals).

Apart from that Yamal is also perfect fit for the story Barca wants to tell. Young player from La Masia, who came from underprivileged family (but he still plays for Spain, which is even better than the previous situation with Messi…)

Raphinha is great this season. He may even win Ballon D'or for this season. And it will be fair. But for Barca team / club / future Yamal is more important. I hope they will avoid exploiting him as they did with Ansu, Pedri and Gavi…

  4. Loved raph but admittedly last season I wouldn’t have minded him being gone , clearly me and many others were wrong tho and I’m happy to say that because raph is a hard worker and humble guy and natural leader we need players like him !

  5. I still can’t believe a player of Raphinha’s quality blessed us at Leeds.

We thought Pablo was just a cut above when he was w/ us, which is/was true, but Raphinha was even more than that. Unreal man. Unreal.

  6. I hope Raphinha knows that there are plenty of Barca fans who have always believed in him. He has always played with so much effort and integrity; and in my opinion it was clear that the g/a were going to come.

Personally, I think Raphinha, Nico, and Yamal can coexist in a front line. It would have to come with a very different llooking midfield though (idk if that's a good trade)

  7. The thing is that we Barcelona fans experienced something extraordinary in Messi for so many years that we hold everyone to that level which is just unfair, that was an alien

  8. i was there when he saved us from relegation against brentford, i now went and got the blackout barca kit with his name on the back but his leeds number instead. MOT

  9. It makes me realise that players need to fit a system.

Small, technical players may find it hard to play “route one” football. Big, physical players maybe can’t play tiki-taka.

Rafinha came from Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds team who were high energy and chaotic.

Then Xavi asked him to play a slow, low-energy style. He had no space to run into and no chaos to exploit.

Flick’s philosophy is closer to Bielsa’s and is getting the best out of Rafinha.
