A player has every right to promote himself in the last 6 months of his contract. Salah wasn't wrong giving that interview and talking about his contract with the club.
I agree that the timing of the comments from Mo was unhelpful and it did cause some distraction during this week. Slot handled it well in interviews, etc.
However, this shouldn’t be at this position and this situation has been mismanaged by the club. Trent especially is unforgivable given his age and market value. I can also understand Mo’s frustration if he really wants to stay.
A 2 year contract for both Van Dijk and Mo on their current wages should be a guarenteed offer. No strings, no thrills, 2 years guarenteed on the same money. Done! If they turn it down, then I think people will understand that and if they leave I think it is difficult to expect the club to have offered anymore. The issue is this seems to have not happened.
Carraghers opinions are so wrong a lot of times on the show, he needs to stop acting like he knows it all.

Mo isn’t a normal 33 year old. he’s in amazing shape, he can easily continue to perform at this level late into his 30’s.
trent is losing his passion, he’s watching everyone else get much better and he’s seen to be hitting a wall. he needs to train smarter, he obviously has the work ethic, just needs to fill the gaps in his game the higher level these players get 💪🏼

Salah isn’t your typical 30yr old. He is fit if not fitter than some of the players in their 20’s.
Salah, always looks after himself and you can tell that he is physically in the best shape of his life. VVD and Trent must think that he is the star of the team and might have their noses put out of place with all the discussion about his contract and not theirs.
When it comes to Trent he was loyal to Kloop and when he left you could see he was devastated and that was the only thing keeping him at the club.
