Southgate is an idiot, he threw Ben White under the bus.

Ben white has kept his mouth shut on the whole matter. Something clearly has happened between him and management he could have come out and slag them off but he hasn’t. I would happily welcome Ben white back
Regardless of what happened, it wasn’t much of a lose and he wouldn’t have played. Southgate was a fantastic manager and a lot of people commenting on Southgate have very short term memory loss.

Got to agree about the England issue, someone should tell Kane it doesnt build togetherness when you slag off your team mates in the media.
The media owes him an apology for 3/4 YEARS Ben White name was dragged thru the mud by England media yet no manager ever has said he has “poor attitude” even look at his overlap interview. The guy is humble and stays to himself off socials etc but of course he’s an Arsenal player so media criticises him for fun

Bollo**s about the working environment thing. If Steve Holland was acting that unprofessionally, he would have been called out by others.
Ben White is a millionaire that could have helped us to two trophies, but he made it about ego.
Now he’s made it even more about ego and wants to come back into the team and say ‘look what you could have had’.

Southgate did a lot of things right but on the pitch fell short. I was happy when Southgate left (not so happy when they tried to make Carlsey Manager). But all that I disagreed with Southgate, its not up to him to pamper spoiled babies, he was the England mens manager not the school boys. 👶🏽
Plus White could have come back for Carlsey in any of the 3 windows and didnt.

Southgate was lying from day one of the job. He stated (in relation to Jack Wilshere not being picked) that he will only pick players that are playing for their clubs. Then he went on and picked Maguire, Phillips, Henderson, who weren't playing for their clubs, on a regular basis.
My son was 8 when Southgate took charge of England, and even HE could see Southgate was not the manager to get England to win trophies

Ben is a class act. He chose not to speak out to defend himself, because he understood truth will come out one day.
It's so obvious what happened here. Southgate was protecting his buddy Holland. If it had got out that Holland had humiliated one of the squad in front of the other players and made him feel uncomfortable in the England environment he would have had to go. No ifs or buts. It is the job of the support staff to encourage and get the best out of players so his position would have been untenable. Southgate lied to protect his mate.

I’ve heard Ben white comes from a non footballing family. It was a female friend of his mums that used to go out in the garden and kick a football about when he was a young boy. So if you been brought up from a family in which football isn’t all consuming, then it is understandable that football isn’t his all consuming passion ! It’s his job which he enjoys, not an addiction where it takes over his life ! I am a 53 year old Arsenal fan and been brought up watching match of the day but often skip through some of the lesser matches at the end and just watch the goals. I am lucky enough to watch most arsenal games now and watch some of the big games between rivals but because as the panal says I don’t watch Leicester verses Southampton does that make me less of an Arsenal fan ? Nor should it make Ben White less of an England fan/player !
The irony of Bent supporting White. Bent wasn't mentally strong enough to take criticism when he was at Spurs. Harry Redknapp joked, "My missus would have scored that one."
That one comment, and off Bent goes to, I think Sunderland. He put his own career into a downward spiral.
