🔴Live🔴MANCHESTER CITY VS TOTTENHAM- PREMIER LEAGUE 24/25🔴Live🔴LIVE SCORES & FULL COMMENTARY

Almost 12 months after they played out a thrilling 3-3 Premier League draw at the Etihad, Manchester City and Tottenham will meet in circumstances that neither side are particularly pleased with. City’s pursuit of a fifth consecutive Premier League crown took a significant hit before the international break with a pair of 2-1 losses away to Bournemouth and Brighton, completing manager Pep Guardiola’s first four-game competitive losing streak of his career.

Ahead of a potentially season-defining trip to league leaders Liverpool next round, they have the chance to hit the reset button when hosting Tottenham, the club who began that four-game losing streak during the fourth round of the EFL Cup. At the Etihad, where they remain unbeaten in the Premier League since November 2022 (W28, D6), they should still be confident of maintaining, if not cutting, the deficit to Liverpool with three points here.

Tottenham aren’t without a chance of setting their hosts’ title challenge further back after taking points home from the majority of their last nine Premier League visits to the Etihad (W2, D3, L4), but last round’s 2-1 loss at home to newly-promoted Ipswich suggests they’re not in shape to do so. Head coach Ange Postecoglou will no doubt be asking for patience as he rebuilds a young squad embattled with a lengthy injury list.

Richarlison and Micky van de Ven were the latest pair to be in doubt for this clash, with the latter likely to be a huge miss if he doesn’t feature. It therefore appears that they might struggle to add to their single Premier League away clean sheet (W 3-0 at Manchester United) for this term, particularly with City striker Erling Haaland returning to England with four more UEFA Nations League goals to his name.

Players to watch: Already with three Premier League goals to his name this season, City defender Joško Gvardiol recorded a crucial equaliser against Portugal to book Croatia’s place in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals. Spurs’ Son Heung-min kept South Korea’s World Cup qualification on track with a goal against Kuwait last week. He also scored and assisted in the aforementioned 3-3 draw here last season.

Hot stat: Eight of Manchester City’s last ten league games produced over 2.5 total goals, as did six of Tottenham’s last seven.
