Croatia is maybe a worlds best team. They were in finals last cup and if you ask me they were robbed victory we all witnessed 2018 when referee started playing for France after first Croatian goal. Most of their players are superstars from best soccer clubs. This is great achievement for Canada so don’t cry.
Fatigue? 😅 Croatia had some of the oldest players on the field in 2018 and played three 120 min. games in a row.
Canada should have never poked the bear. Herdman poked that bear and you see what happens. Croatia ðŸ‡ðŸ‡· beats Canada 🇨🇦 4-1. It seems the Morocco game at this point is meaningless especially if you're eliminated and going home. May as well use this as a learning experience for 2026 when Canada hosts the tournament.
Another 4 year wait to get back to the World Cup but saving grace we are hosting it in our backyard but with that in mind it begs the question of where this team goes from here. Or who do we bring in because if Herdman is gone, then who to replace him as manager? Or if he stays, which players come into the team as a part of the new generation heading into 2026?
Just focus on building for the 2026 FIFA World Cup especially since Canada is hosting alongside USA and Mexico. Especially now that Canada is eliminated, we may as well turn our attention to that which means building a team for 2026 and preparing for that tournament which is in our own backyard. May as well prepare for that by playing friendly matches and also turning our attention towards Gold Cup and CONCACAF Nations League.
Canada for 2026 being that we are hosts and if we automatically qualify as hosts for the 26 World Cup in our backyard for USA/Canada/Mexico we get better seeding position as a Pot 1 team and if Infantino is serious about 4 team Groups we most likely end up with a more favorable group
As far as 2026, which players need to be phased out to make room for younger players?
1- Borjan will be 39 by 2026 so he's most likely out
2- Vitoria will also be 39 years old by 2026 so he too is phased out
3- Atiba will be 43 years old by 2026 so he is phased out
4- Wotherspoon will be 36 years old so he's goneÂ
5- Hoilett will be 36 years old by 2026 so hes goneÂ

Buchanan was the best player on Canadas team with his physicality and energy, I wish Herdman would have substituted players earlier and why Anyocube wasnt a starter and didnt come out till 70th min. and was the last game when forwards and defense were tired.

There are things u don't reveal to the media, that was extra motivation for Croatia.
Canadian play style is not sustainable. A team with a kovacic, and Modric that have excellent ball retention Wil pick u apart. A football game is 90 not 20.I saw the same play pattern against Belgium. To beat Canada all u have to do is withstand the pressure in the first 20 min, then u can pick them apart.
Croatia has population of 4 million. I think that speaks for itself.
