Hendo on,y wants to finish his career at Sunderland so he can get his badges and near home. And why would he drop his wages, I think he would upset the balance, he was a top quality player and goes around shouting at other players on the pitch mainly because he was always lazy. We don’t need him. If he wants to do well in the northeast go to Gateshead afc and do something there.
I think he’ll upset the changing room, he’ll shout and whinge at the players like he does on the pitch, we have a great balance and Reggie and his backroom staff won’t like his interfering, plus Reggie knows exactly what he wants from Sunderland. Henderson is using Sunderland afc for his own benefit to get his coaching badges and to be near his family. Saudi and Ajax have off loaded him as he’s done nothing to impress them. Best bet go to china.
Don’t think it happens
There's no way we'll be signing Hendo, neither should we
The talk is that (if) he comes back it'll be as a player coach.
Love this podcast
He's everything Sunderland are missing. High level experience and the ultimate professional for the young squad to learn from.
If he's happy being a squad player, he'd be a great one to have. We have some very young players in his position who could go on to be absolute top stars in football. And they shouldn't be dropped for anyone right now. But his experience could be invaluable
Don't safc fans realise that this isn't gonna happen ???!!!! He has to remain outside of the UK to avoid paying tax on his Saudi money and that would make Jordan 36/7 yes old Wen he can return . I would take him as a coach but not as a player 👍🤔🤔
In my opinion it would be big mistake he's had his time coach yes player no it would disrupt the atmosphere in the dressing room .Big no from me but it's just an opinion.
Jordan can come back to Coventry ??? old club
I would only take him if either Samed isn’t as good as his experience suggests or we get a long term injury in midfield, and if Aleksic isn’t good enough to start for a top championship team. Of course assuming we don’t have to pay much in wages
Henderson is literally still starting most games for Ajax, unless they are planning on signing a midfielder in January
First 10 mins of this was pure garbage.
It will all be about giving the youngsters some invaluable experience with Henderson to Sunderland.
I dont see him walking into the team- a player coach perhaps?
BTW Your show is top class- u really deserve more punters.
No way he could ? How the hell could he dee that ? Guarentee safc promotion ????absolute bollox he could though prevent us progressing bcos hes past it !
As the season goes on the squads have to rotate. He'd certainly be handy to have come off the bench to see games out. Off the pitch hes still an asset.
As a mentor for Neill, whose role has been pivotal, but form inconsistent, he could be worth his weight in Premiership television money. As an actual player, he might be redundant.
He plays for Ajax so get lost
Nothing for me as a player..a coach yeah.. club has moved on .. one last dance didn’t work with Defoe.. thinking same with Jordan unfortunately…former players like ball n Quinn n Phillips can instill the philosophy.. don’t want him to havr a final payday because he doesn’t like Ajax.. he should fantastic football club..he wanted to be Liverpool Stevie G not ours.. ship has sailed
Hendo literally plays every week for Ajax and is still competing at a European level. If he is willing to drop down to the championship, then we should snap his fingers off.
He has won everything there is to win and he’s done it all with class.
Having a serial winner like that, who is also a local lad who knows what it means to the club, can only be a good thing.
Regardless of how unreal our midfield is, Hendo walks in it.
Don't talk daft! Sunderland don't need him. He's finished !
If you guys watch him for Ajax hes class. Hed bed Sunderlands best player, no brainer
Sunderland has too much midfield depth;
Neil
Rigg
Jobe
Samad
Browne
Aleksic
Where would he fit in? Sunderland have the best midfield in the league atm
Don't think Hendo would be a positive move to Sunderland.
Bellingham, Rigg, Brown, Neil, plus two midfielders Ahmed Abdullahi and Salis Abdul Samed who haven't appeared yet due to injuries.
The only way Sunderland would sign Hendo is if they sold Bellingham and Rigg for mega money in January.
Agree, Sunderland have a good 4 in the middle; Neil, Jobe, Rigg and Browne, also have Samed about to return to fitness and Aleksic needing some minutes. Ba and Aouchiche there too at a push, seem to have fallen out with Le Bris but decent players. Obviously we could end up losing someone in January or loan some out but don’t think it’s an area we’re desperate to supplement.
If there is any truth in this I imagine he’ll come as a player coach with the view coach at the club he supports. He has done well with money and made some good investments so doubt he’d be after too much.
For Jordan Henderson it would be a move towards his coaching career. Almost coming in as a playing assistant coach
I agree…. why upset a fine sailing ship, which is what we are now..geeing the dressing room up yes definatley… id rather have Alan Brown as our captain, and starting, instead of hit and miss Dan Neil…last season we had players to comfortable with being in the first team.Dan Neil is still doing this this season.
I'm not absolutely desperate to get him, I don't think it should involve us breaking our backs with Ajax to get it done. But if it is convenient enough for all parties concerned I'd love him back yeah
I wonder if rather than to play Henderson could arrive on Wearside in a coaching capacity. Maybe even a player/coach – to fill in on the field if ever needed. Could be a semi retirement from playing and put him in a good position for a future in management/coaching. If Sunderland were to get promoted he could add a lot to the coaching team with his premier league experience.
It’s a nostalgia move with hendo nothing more we’ve seen it with Defoe returning it very rarely ever works out if anything we could do with reinforcing full back positions and possibly the right wing
