  1. The next manager, whoever that is, must galvanise these players with massive ego's into a TEAM that plays to a system. If that system means dropping a certain player because he can't or wont play that system, then so be it. For example Harry Kane. Clearly not fit but started every game. He did the same thing in the champions league final for Spurs against Liverpool. Obviously not fit after injury but played, well was on the pitch, when the guy that scored a hat trick in the semi final, Lucas Mora, was on the bench. The next manager must be able to make tough decisions for the good of the team and not because so and so is a top player so must play. Good luck with that.

  2. Gareth Southgate did a great job at bringing the England team back from the abyss & laying a solid foundation for future managers but that said by the time of the final whistle went last Sunday in the Euro 2024 Final he looked like he ran out of ideas & has taken us as far as he can it appears whereas that Spanish manager had a reply to everything in that tournament when pressure was on them from tougher opposition with a diversity of thought which perhaps Southgate was lacking by the end of his tenure as England manager so maybe it is time to find someone who can adapt more easily to the highest of pressure situations against the toughest opposition in future tournaments

  3. The buddy buddy club showing its full face. These people are NOT OBJECTIVE! They are elitist who want to do nothing more than protect one another. Southgate was a failure in the grand scheme of things and they ALL KNOW IT. Sick of the gaslighting and bs.

  4. Regret??? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Jog on Razor. Southgate was the luckiest England manager. But he's also the clueless rubbish tactically inept England manager ever ffs!! Everything he achieved was pure luck and relied on individual brilliance or moment! Good riddance!

  5. Ruddock has a point here. Some people are celebrating, yet they should hold their horses and be careful what they wish for.
Southgate has raised standards and expectations. Under Southgate England has gone deep into tournaments. There is now an expectation to win and het to finals. If the next man doesn't qualify or get out of the group-stage, people will be crying out for Southgate in a few years time! There will have to be pragmatism at times, not all teams can merely be turned over.

In terms of the new manager:

If English, has to be: Eddie Howe or Carsley.
If non-English: Klopp (though doubtful he would ever take, as he wants to relax, so no idea why his name is being constantly thrown into the mix).
No way Lampard, Rooney or Gerrard. They have poor man-management and inter-personal skills.
    No way: the Argentian Pochettino.

  6. He's been a very lucky guy for England … No manager has ever had such easy draws in World cups or Euro's which on paper looks great but when you look at the countries we played …Come on !

  7. Where the hell they dig up those ppl ? if 8 years in charge with over ยฃ40m salary with 0 trophy u don't call it failure , what do u call it then ? success!!!!!!!!no manager in this planet with 5m a year salary plus would be allowed to stay in the job if he didn't deliver a trophy

  8. I don't get this mantra that England were in total disarray when Southgate took over in 2016, and without him we wouldn't be where we are today. Anyone would think he took over a club team in financial debt that had sold all it's best players and had to re-build again from scratch. And as for changing the culture and making playing for England fun again, I don't think that Foden, Kane, Bellingham, Trent, Gordon & Grealish will look back at how they were utilised in Euro 24 and think of it as "fun".

  9. I mean I think Gareth Southgate did say before the tournament that if England did not win the Euros, he probably would not be in charge after the tournament. I think he knew for some time

  10. Whatโ€™s Ruddock going on about? The footballing world found our performance in the tournament dire. Southgate never learnt from his past mistakes. Stubborn and out of his depth.

  11. I think Southgate is a thoroughly bloody decent bloke, his managerial credentials were impeccable in almost every area, what let him down was his loyalty to players, to the point of playing an injured Kane (the biggest justified criticism), that and his offense tactics which were absolutely woeful, be assured though that defensively he was tactically as sound as a pound

  12. WTF the man won nothing just a few penalty shootouts with pub teams. All other victories were UEFA assissted with Dodgy Penalty and Manfell Over the principal participants in most games.

  13. Southgate made his decision (albeit 4 years to late) and the nation breathed a great sigh of relief. Thatโ€™s the truth of the matter and those such as Razor Ruddock (who I respect) are not publicly saying what they privately feel in my view.

  14. Says a Pub man who knows nothing about football โšฝ๏ธ
    Typical English ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ man ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  15. Thought tournament football was about winning . Who cares they got to two finals and a semi ? Ultimately we lost time and time again sure he went further than any other manager but he also was given 8 bloody years and in the end the team regressed never beat a team we weren't expected to and struggled against so called minnows .Cannot for a second call it a success therfore it's failure.
