Tottenham Hotspur have not been quite as active in the transfer window this summer – only signing Archie Gray from Leeds United and Yang Min-hyuk from Gangwon FC, Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth and Wilson Odobert from Burnley – but over the last few years under Ange Postecoglou Spurs have been building a top youth side.

With the help of Daniel Levy, Scott Munn, Johan Lange and Fabio Paratici Spurs have lowered the average age of the squad to 25.

The Premier League is heating up with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Bournemouth, Burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Luton Town, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wolves aka Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ipswich Town, Southampton and Leicester City.

The former Celtic, Yokohama F. Marinos, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory coach Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham squad include Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Emerson Royal, Yves Bissouma, Pierre-Emile Hojberg, Dejan Kulusevski, Bryan Gil, Brennan Johnson, Son Heung-Min (손흥민) Richarlison, Pape Matar Sarr, Jamie Donley, Alfie Dorrington, Ashley Phillips, Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur, Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence, Ryan Sessegnon, Micky van de Ven, Timo Werner, Radu Dragusin, James Maddison and Dane Scarlett, Manor Solomon, Alejo Veliz, Giovani Lo Celso, Ben Davies, Fraser Forster, Brandon Austin, Alfie Whiteman, Ivan Perisic, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Tanguy Ndombele, Joe Rodon, Lucas Bergvall, Mikey Moore, Archie Gray, Yang Min-hyuk, Wilson Odobert, Dominic Solanke and Luka Vuskovic.

  1. We cannot play out from the back when we are pressed hard. It costs us goal after goal. Why not play it long, we have Solanke up there who can hold the ball really well.

  2. Actually..Porro n Udogi played as Wingback in 352 format at ex-team.. so need Ange's flexibility like first half with current 433 n 2nd half..with Deagusin 352 format. Just example.
But ange keeps only 1 inverted format that all 19teams already made counter-measure. His stubbornness makes team spoiled. Homegame..like man city n awaygame like B devision grade. Unbelievable.

  3. oh Sonny my friend, that lose really hurt me brother. I think we need to buy players with character.Lets get the likes of Sergio Ramos or any player of that calibre who know how to fight for a win

  4. Palace played 3 at the back. With high wingbacks. Why can’t we do the same? Either with a real double pivot, a 10 with 2 strikers. Failing that, 343

If we are committed to 433… using two 10s away from home against a back 3… it’s suicidal. We need to be more pragmatic and respect the opposition. I would like to see a midfield of Biss, Rodrigo & Deki. Especially in these sorts of fixtures

  5. Football is a simple game made completed by fools, fast one touch football is simple and very hard to stop, I don’t know how many any times I have screamed at the tv “give it to him” but instead of getting the ball and playing it straight away the holds the ball for awhile and then by the time they decide to pass it on, the player is either closed down or gone off side.

  6. The disappointment is in these players that play for their countries, play at the highest level and looked totally lost at times. That’s an attitude issue. Turning up thinking they will roll the opposition and not willing to get into the scrap. That’s where the Gaffa needs to step it up and change tactics. For me away from home start with 2 pivots.
