-TIMESTAMPS-

00:00 – Intro.

00:26 – Discussing club futures here?: Right now we have a game in three days so that’s all I’m worried about.

00:48 – Qualifying for Scotland and Ireland?: Yep, my dad’s side is Irish and my mums side is Irish.

01:02 – did either try convince you to go to go for either country?: not really. I was 15 or 16 and I wasn’t good enough to play for England youth but managed to work my way back.

01:41 – In that Scotland youth squad with any of their current team?: I can’t remember, too long ago.

02:13 – Useful to have long standing relationships?: It’s always nice, there’s great friendships in the squad and enjoying everyday with everyone.

03:00 – Worried about burning out?: Not at all. Most players want to play as much as possible.

03:35 – Will you be supporting Scotland tomorrow?: definitely. A great opening game.

03:53 – was your mum a Scotland supporter?: No, fully English supporter.

04:10 – what are the plans for the Scotland game?: There’s a few places at the hotel so I’m sure the lads with watch it.

04:31 – Who do you want to win?: It’s a massive game, two great teams and Scotland will make it hard.

04:57 – Could’ve played for Scotland?: It was only really my mum’s dad. He passed away so couldn’t tempt me lucky enough.

05:44 – Busy schedule next year: I haven’t looked that far ahead but I’ll be ready.

06:24 – changing roles: I’m always to play in whatever position.

07:01 – Do you see your role as releasing the attacking players?: There’s a lot more talented attacking players than myself.

  1. absolutely sounds bloke and comes across as modest and low maintenance… but I bet he was instantly regretting the bit where it said it was luckily enough that his grandad died when he was young lol. I'm sure some dirty tabloid out there will try to twist that quote.

  2. Most Englishmen have Irish, Scots or Welsh ancestry somewhere down the line- I have an Irish grandma and Scottish great grandparents etc… don’t like the way they pinch our players tbh… nearly lost Rice and Grealish to that nonsense – won’t hope local young Irish/Scots/Welsh get much of a chance either! It’s a big boooooo to that carry-on from me! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

  3. It’s between Conor or Mainoo alongside at 2 DM formation with Rice and with Conor’s experience, pressing and teamwork I think he should start. If Safegates can just be bold and have 3241 formation with Stones between Walker and Trippier on left and right if stones to cover speed. Then Conor and Rice as double pivot with 5 forwards using two 10’s with Jude and Foden then Saka on the right and Palmer in the left with Kane up front. We should terrify the opposition but just don’t be cautious when we play against the best opposition go for the throats!
    C’mon England!
