  1. Last night was more than just retention and passing
At 2-1 they had the upper hand and looked like the only team to go on and win tanaka grabbed the game and drove us forward getting us back in the game this boy is 🤯

  2. You said ages ago about Tanaka and I have been along for the ride and am enjoying it. These videos you do have taught this ole dog a hell of a lot. To be fair I lived in Japan for 3 months back in 1991 and the mentality of the Japanese was something I embraced. I see it in Tanaka. Keep up the good work. I am really enjoying these mate and I am not blowing smoke up your ass.

  3. Nice one Locky, you were spot on! Tanaka is probably my favourite type of midfield profile to watch. You can see players around him relax when he’s on it, even at times where we were under pressure yesterday – you cannot undervalue that attribute! Can’t wait to see more of him. Keep up the good work 🙌🏻

  4. super analysis… i was thinking – who is he like, and i was thinking Bowyer … and lo and behold a minute later you show his photo. Tanaka is the footballing equivalent of a Hattori Hanzo Katana. Big disappointment in the game was lack of adaptation by Farke when Ramazani went off.

  5. Thank you for another great report. For me – if we can sort out the missed chances, we'd be ready for the Premiership. Re Tanaka – in the Sheffield game, I watched him. He was pointing (to the ball carrier) instructions as to where the ball was to be should be passed to and they responded to that direction. He directed the game as well as performed well. He would fit into the team Captain role in time to come. Re – physical sides…that's how we lost Ramazani early.

  6. I think it was Wenger who said when looking at players he doesn’t want people whose heart rate rises when they receive the ball he wants them to look like it drops and they relax. Tanaka seems like this he always wants it. I just hope if he gets caught in possession and it leads to a goal fans don’t jump on it, it will probably happen at some point. Archie gave up a few big chances like that but over a season it will help more often than it will hinder.

  7. Was so disappointed with the fan base when the sceptics were saying that he can't be very good coming from Bundesliga 2. I watched him in Germany also playing against Kaiserslautern and knew he was so good. Don't let the transfer fee dictate the quality of the players we are getting. 49ers are on it.😊

  8. Ampadu is a championship midfielder, Tanaka is levels above. One of the reasons we weren't promoted last season was due to persisting with midfielders with no vision, this lad envisions things before he gets the ball, sign of a top player in that position. He'll play in the Premier League next season, for sure. Guile over graft, I know which I prefer.

  9. I live in Germany and watched Tanaka numerous Times.
I Remember Olli ward asked me about Tanaka and how good He was.
I Said If Tanaka gets a fair Shot He will Deliver. After the Game Yesterday i Said to Ollie give him another 2 or 3 Games and we will See him in the Scoreboard

  10. Shades of Olivier Dacourt in the way he was twisting and turning out of trouble last night. Great touch, great vision, one of the only ones who stood up to the physicality last night. 2 MOTM in a row for me. Keep Brighton's hands off him!
