Think about it, we are going to play a high defensive line under Ten Hag and need someone to be carry the ball from the back and pass out from back. You don’t need pace if your positioning is correct to begin with. Him and Varane with Timber as RB would make a good defense.

He's gifted. I was a left or right back for 30 years and it's only in your later years that you start defending in the way that he does. He does it so naturally, getting a foot in when the opponent is off balance, also reads what they're going to do.
