Dest is not good enough to play for Barcelona, period. He has fancy feet but can't defend, doesn't contribute anything off the ball. He belongs in the Eredevisie or MLS. No one cares what he says.
Nothing in that statement was "it's not my fault." Stevie is trying to put words in his mouth. Those guys were not there. If it happened it happened. If it did not then he is lying. They are saying he's lying and fabricated this. That Xavi never said he was gonna rely on him, never said, don't go forward. I don't think Dest is good enough. But i also don't think he fabricated the story. I do think he probably was told, i'm gonna rely on you and then he came back and they tried to sell him. i think he's 100% wrong that he didn't get a chance. But i'd bet money the rest was too. They probalby did say i'm counting on you and then thought better of it and tried to sell him.
I feel like a lot of people are strawmanning Dest. I agree Dest wasn't good enough for Barcelona. His problem was that Xavi didn't say that from the getgo even though it was obvious. He instead gave mixed messages that misled Dest. Don't tell a player that he's in your plans before the offseason starts then say that he's not when the offseason ends. Just straight up say, "Dest, you haven't been playing very well for us. I think it's time for you to go. Use this offseason to look for another club." If anything, Xavi took away a good amount of time Dest could have used to look for a new club.

Dest is a very good player. When you take away his strength, which is the reason they brought him to barcelona, how can you expect him to perform? It doesnt make sense because Xavi played with Dani Alves who was given freedom to go forward and was a major reason for Barcelona's success
