It is up to clubs to limit the length of contracts, not the AFL. Collectively they need to work on how they can limit the power of players' managers.
Such a pissweak response to want the AFL to limit contract lengths to "protect" the clubs. They are capable of protecting themselves. Nobody is holding a gun to anyone's head.
I have a rather unique and complex solution for those who don't want to offer a seven year deal….. Don't offer a seven year deal. I can do a conference call to explain the finer details for those who don't quite understand the nuances involved.
