Sunderland have already had talks with ajax about signing Jordan Henderson in January

  1. Its not like he needs the money so he will sign without damaging the clubs wage structure. The real pull will be to be back in the northeast and helping the lad through his coaching badges from the club. His experience is very much needed on and in the dressing room.

  2. I personally still can't see it happening but even if it did let's be real he wouldn't even get any game time anyway and there's a few reasons why, first off Le Bris doesn't like to change anything unless he's forced to and finally Dan Neil won't be dropped cos he's the captain and also the likes of Browne and Samed when fit would be ahead of him, as much as we would all love to see him come back to finish his career at his boyhood club it just wouldn't really work in terms of him getting game time unless he's happy to come and be on the bench, don't get me wrong he would get in ahead of Dan Neil at the moment but I want to see the likes of Browne and Samed get more game time cos Browne is that experience and calming influence that we need and Samed is young but has plenty of experience already and is a champions league player, so when u look at it like that we don't need Hendo unless it's more for him to come home and retire and be content with limited game time

  3. This is a strange one for me like. Hendo was amazing for Sunderland, playing first team football coming through the ranks via the academy, he was great. Winning and holding the European cup aloft must have been a great feeling and I was proud of him even though he was a Liverpool player.

He's now 34 years old and if he can play in the Championship and perform well, then I can understand the idea of why Sunderland want him back. Bolo Zenden was 33 when he played for Sunderland back in 2009 for two years and he ran his heart out for the club as attacking midfielder / winger, so why can't Henderson play as a defensive / holding midfielder at 34? If he still has the stamina, strength and pace and doesn't become a sick note, then why not. I always wanted Bolo Zenden to stay as a coach at SAFC, maybe Hendo too will play a couple seasons for us until we get to the Prem and then become a coach. He can also mentor Dan Neil who can go missing as CDM.

We have to also think about the fact that he is available and maybe, other Championship clubs will come in for him>.Imagine if he were to go to Leeds, Sheff UTD or Burnley! I wouldn't want that like!

If Hendo can understand the model and accept the wage structure of a club rising from the ashes, it's a no brainer. Let him come home. He wants us back were we belong!

    SAFC!

  4. What gets me, is that most of these people commenting, were lamenting the fact that we were without Corry Evans for most of last season whose midfield presence we missed as we plummeted out of the play offs. Now we have a potential replacement who has an even greater experience than Evans, and these same people don't want him 🤷🏻‍♂. Henderson is only a month older than Evans! In my opinion, if this deal came off, he would be ideal as a shield, sitting in front of the back four. The only downside is who he would replace. Neil is the obvious candidate, but despite him being out of form, and the current captain, I doubt he would be dropped. Henderson may have to be a bench warmer, and only come on to see a game out that we are winning.
