All he ever wanted from a young age was to play for football and to have the chance to wear the sky blue shirt of his childhood heroes.

It took a lot of hard work and dedication, but now that boy is one of the best footballers in the world and living out the dream of every City fan.

Our Phil charts his journey from kicking a ball in the streets of Stockport, through the Academy age groups, to the first team and winning Premier Leagues and the Champions League with City as well as a haul of personal honours.

We speak to the people that helped him on his journey, from schools friends, fellow Academy colleagues and coaches all the way to his current team-mates in the dressing room.
