  1. By the end of the year, nobody will remember Marc-André ter Stegen. After the incredible performances of Wojciech Szczęsny, everyone will be talking about him instead!
    Mark my word

  2. Gavi’s potential return from his ACL injury is a massive boost for Barcelona and I’m happy to see that he’ll be back in action after the international break. He’s not going to play a significant amount of minutes from the get go as he’ll be managed and he won’t be back to his best right away and they’ll try to ease him back to full fitness, given the team’s current form and how long the season is, it’s always a good thing to have more quality depth and options to choose from. Despite the fact that they have technically gifted players in midfield, up until recently, for most of last season, they missed Gavi’s presence no one could do what he did and it didn’t help that they lacked a proper CDM at the time as before this major injury, he was such an important player at such a young age, he was a consistent performer for them as he did all of the little things that helped the team even if it wasn’t flashy or jaw dropping and he’ll offer so much to this Barcelona team once he’d fully back to full fitness. A midfield of Gavi Pedri Frenkie de Jong Dani Olmo Fermin Lopez Marc Casado and Pablo Torre, they have some insane depth in midfield and as I said before this bodes well for any team in a long season when they want to rotate the squad and freshen things up when they have a fully healthy team.

As a modern day midfielder, he has it all has amazing technical ability, can have moments where he’s composed on the ball played with a high level of maturity, his work rate is on another level as he’s tenacious plays with a lot of energy and stamina, covers so much ground, he bleeds the club and will fight for the badge no matter what. Maybe this explains why they didn’t go for a defensive midfielder in the summer even though so far in Hansi Flick’s double pivot 4-2-3-1, they have been brilliant. Anyways, until he’s back to being fully fit, what they can do with him is try to give him minutes when they’re leading by a couple of goals or he comes off the bench for a cameo when the team is trying to close out the game.

Pedri has been playing some sublime football, Olmo before his injury was scoring goals, Casado has been a revelation in the team and another gem that came out of their academy, Lopez offers a goalscoring threat from midfield, de Jong is back from injury, Gavi will return soon and while they’re all going to get a significant amount of opportunities as everyone will have a chance to play, I wonder what Barcelona’s best midfield looks like when everyone is fit as Pedri and Olmo are guaranteed starters.

  3. I’ve been imagining it for so long now, in second halves, probably around the 70th minute, taking off Casado and Eric Garçia and bringing on Gavi and Frenkie. Just imagine the way we’d tire teams out, Gavi would have them breathless by the 90th minute, forcing mistakes, winning lose balls, intercepting passes, shutting down pockets of space just imagine!!!!

  4. Above all Gavi and Flick is such a sick combination. I hope Flick urge this guy to take more risk and be more attack minded. Dude potential is way more than just work rate and defensive contribution.

  5. The return of Gavi and other first team players is good news to Hansi Flick and FC Barca fans. They will add solidity, options and a different dimension to whatever pattern of play the coach chooses and also help in squad rotation.
Bayern & Madrid are beatable but our defensive high-line has to be near perfect otherwise we will concede too many chances and with the pace they have we will struggle to cope.
